Absolute Hammer load data

I am really wanting to try some 140 AH's in my MRC 7 Rem Mag 26", but I do have limited powder and I live in a crappy area to find supplies. I got H1000, H4350, IMR 4831. I like the idea of wringing this thing out for whitetails in beanfields next year, but it seems 7 rem mag data is lacking. Been loading for 15 years but never really strayed beyond the books so just looking for info.
Thinking about loading this up for my 30-06 and too and from this thread it looks like I might be in luck since I do have some Varget, Superformace, H335 and H4895
 
270 win with 139 AH and H4350.

Anyone have any suggestions?
In my last couple of emails with Steve, he has suggested using Hodgdons website and picking a powder in the same bullet weight (or close to it) as the AH. Start at the max charge and go up until you find pressure. I like to cross reference with Nosler to see what case fill is at and see if I have room for more powder.
From looking at both load data sites, W760 and IMR7828 may be good choices. ButterBean is going to give me hell about suggesting 7828 since we have a long standing inside joke about it. 🤣
 
Perfect. I'll load a couple more and start at 52.

I really want to use h4350. If that doesn't work I'll bump up to 4831 but i expect I'll run out of case capacity with that.

Keep us updated. Since you're the guinea pig with the 270, I know all of us are interested in your results. I was the one that used Benchmark with my 30-06, but this was after I tried IMR4350 first.
One thing to note is if you run out of case capacity and don't hit pressure, you can go with a faster powder (unless you're really happy with your results). With the AH, we are all learning as we go and trying to find the "magical" formula.

I'll be testing this "new theory" with the 109 gr Absolute in my 6.5-284 Norma and see if HV100 was the correct powder choice. I'm hoping to get 3400-3500 fps out of it, so we'll see.
 
To further the above testing with .300 PRC, 178AH, and RL23: 26" ( 1/8"):

78.5 gr. 3221 FPS
79.0 gr. 3252 FPS
79.5 gr 3261 FPS
80.0 gr. 3295 FPS very slight flattening of primer

(With 15mph head-wind and 26F degrees, 80 gr. 3-shot group was 3/4" @ 200 yds. ((With Magnetospeed removed.))
I'm stopping with the 80 gr. load. Next I'll take it out to 600 yards, but based on what I've seen so far, I think this will become this rifle's #1 load, at least for the deer-sized game I normally pursue.
With a view towards full disclosure, and related to my testing of the 178 gr. Absolute Hammer's in the .300 PRC: The "slight flattening of primer", in the 80 gr. charge of RL23 I referenced above, has also shown some slight ejector marks, (especially in a cold bore). Subsequently, I backed off to 79.5 grains to complete my testing to 600 yards. (3265 FPS on average.) They shoot really well, and as I noted earlier, with the reduced muzzle jump, I can now see most of my impacts at 500+ yards. (I was never able to see them with 190/212 gr. loads I developed earlier.) As a plus, according to my energy app anyway, the 178 grain @ 3265 FPS, is delivering better than 4200 EFP at muzzle. I can't imagine too many game animals I'll ever shoot at would appreciate that too much...
