Looking for some advice on how is the best way to size lake city or other military brass Ive got rcbs full length dies ,Lyman full length, and I've ordered a lee collet full length dies I'm having trouble getting any of this to go all the way in the sizing die I'm hoping the collet die will help it 7.62 x51mm thank you in advance for your help

Try an RCBS FL X die. Good luck.

Depends on the source of your brass. If it is was machine gun fired it will be "large". You need a strong press and Imperial Sizing Wax to restore the cases to correct dimensions.
An ordinary press and lubes won't do it.
That said LC brass is excellent, just be sure to swage out the primer crimp and adjust your loads as these cases have less capacity than ordinary commercial ons.

I usually run 7.62 military brass through a small base die. Some of the brass you are having trouble with may have been fired in an M-60 or M-240. The brass I have that was fired in machine guns takes some muscle and a liberal dose of lubricant to resize.

If it is really hard I pull it and trash it rather than have it get stuck in the die.

Good luck!

I've got a rock chucker press do you think that will be sufficient

I use a Rock Chucker and RCBS small base dies for mine. Works fine. As others have said, use plenty of lube for the tough ones. My LC brass gets used in a couple of M1A's. It's the only brass that I can get to last for more than 1 or 2 reloads.

When I get a hold of LC 308 brass I do the following.
Tumble the hell out of it. It's dirtier inside, than you think.
Anneal it prior to re-sizing.
Lube the hell out of it, especially inside the case neck.
Ensure your dies are clean inside, no grit, old lube. I use brake cleaner and scrub it clean after disassembly.
I've never used a small based sizing die. I reload for M1A, and have never needed to use one.
LC brass is thicker, resulting in smaller case capacity, work up loads accordingly.
I have had to run the ram twice, back to back, to get the case to resize and fit into a gauge.
I use a 45 degree chamfer tool in my dewalt drill to remove primer pocket crimp.

I would suggest a decapping die and extra pins. Sizing wax is a must. Don't rely on any spary lube like One Shot, or you'll have One Stuck.
Yes sir. And WHEN you stick one. Remove the de-capping pin, and pound the case out from the top with a punch. Light taps with a dead blow hammer. It's the only thing that ever worked for me. That's why I stress tumbling over night to remove all grit. Not room for friction error.

I de-cap, then SS pin clean, dry, I use oil but, I use elec motor oil (https://www.supco.com/web/supco_live/products/MO98.html, a little goes a long way!! few drops in the lube pad and go, a little of oil on a bore mop for the inside of the neck, and re-size, then back to the SS tumbler to wash off the oils, dry, trim, anneal, polish and load. works very well and is very easy to re-size in my lee classic cast press
