Does the 190 ABLR like standard length or kissing the lands?

One thing a buddy of mine and I found with the ABLR bullets is that you need the proper seating plug for them or the last couple hundred thousandths can deform when being seated. Some noticeably and some not quite so noticeably. I have wondered if that isn't the reason why my results with them were not stellar in anything I tried them in. Perhaps I was tweaking a lot of the bullet ends enough to negatively effect accuracy......

I would agree with that use hornady seating die they are more fragile than ELDX tips

It was suggested once to me, to seat half way, spin the case 180° and seat the rest. This is supposed to help seating without damage. I have no idea how, or if it does. I did it with a few of my 225's.

Which brings a new question. Will the RCBS or Lee seater, accept Hornady stems?

Ok let me reiterate to get accuacy out of these... start with Nosler recommended length and slowly go longer, all the while going up and down in powder. Don't worry about your lands unless you can find them, I couldn't reach the lands even with OAL at 3.5" but 3.375 shot nice (one hole groups)

My Proof Research Elevation in 6.5 CM gets along well with Nosler 142 ABLR's. Ran this 3 shot group 2 days ago. 42.7 gn of H4350 and 0.050" off the lands.

The lands in my RUM are at 3.853" with the 190.

One gun likes them at .050 off and another .020 off. You should find a sweet spot near of in between those. I have had no problem getting them to shoot, both were easy to tune in

I like to seat them into the lands in 300 wsm makes a single shot out of a repeater but that's ok with me it's shoots in the .1 with Nosler LRAB and burger VLD

I use the 190s in my 300wm with 73grs of 23 and the 142s in a 6.5cm with 41grs of varget and both like big jumps

I am running the 210ABLR in 3 300WM rifles at present. The distance from the rifling is different in each, ranging from .010" to .080".
Having a tangent ogive seems to be more accomodating in various seating depths. I have not found them picky, yet tuning does take a bit of tweaking, similar to Berger Hybrid bullets.
I started out in each rifle kissing and moving away. All 3 rifles have SAAMI MATCH chambers with SAAMI throat lengths. My comp gun has the A191 chambered barrels and don't like ABLR close to the rifling, so each rifle/barrel is different.

I have loaded the LRAB in 4 different rifles. 330 Dakota, 28 Nosler, 7 SAUM and 7-08 Ackley. They are easy to tune. Start at .030" jump and move out from there - seat deeper.

I've loaded the 190 ABLR in an 06' and a 308 Win. The 06 liked to .020" off the lands and the 308 was .010" off.
