Is it possible to find 30" plus or minus barrels for the ar15 platform? Any caliber? I dont think the AR action could handle a 338 but on the other hand I have one AR with the 300 BO action and barrel. But that 16" barrel does not contribute to getting the most out of any round.

Several years ago I had Keystone Accuracy make me an AR 15 30" Krieger 223 Wylde 1:7.7 twist. Very accurate to 800 yards FTR class. Shot 80g Amax to 1200 on steel. Very happy with results.

I love your picture.
Highbrow, That is what I am talking about. I would like to do one in a 30 caliber (for FEENIX, plus or minus....) 7.62 x 39 maybe.
Oh, FEENIX, I was going to do an AK in 45-70 but dropped the idea when I realized that the length of the cartridge would not fit in an AK lower for feeding. I have a Gatling gun barrel for the project.

Keep everything you have for the 300BO except the bolt itself and the barrel. Get you a 24" barrel which is common in 6.5 Grendel and mount it and a bolt for the 6.5 Grendel and drop it into your bolt carrier and have a really good AR15 platform long range rifle and it took you just a few minutes to do. Oh, if your 300BO is not rifle length gas you will need to get a rifle length gas tube. With the 6.5 Grendel and a 24" barrel you can easily safely approach or get a little over 2600 fps with 120 to 123 gr high ballistic efficient bullets and stay super sonic out to 1000 yards. Do the math for yourself. That is better than most 308 Win. will do.

I have an AR in 7.62, but NOT with a long barrel. Guess I wil;l have to think about having the long barrel made.....maybe also a long barrel for my Beowulf AR

Thank you, I will try that. Since you didnt mention it, and I havent looked yet, I assume the 300BO magazine fits?

6.5 Grendel will require a Grendel-specific magazine in order to feed properly.

If I was ice skating uphill this hard I'd probably go ahead and run 30 AR or the Wilson 30 cal to at least get the most out of it. I for one cannot understand a 300 blk barrel over 16 inches. The whole point is short barrels and suppressed. If not for the NFA I wouldn't see the merit in anything over 11 or 12 inches. I'm about to be putting together an 8 inch gun personally
