Hello, my name is Jeff. I have been reading these threads for years now. So i decided its time to jump in here and ask the pros. I'm interested in building another 7mm. I currently hunt with a 7 mag and a huge fan of the 7mm. What I'm looking for mostly in this new rifle is accuracy for target shooting 1200yd plus. Like to be able to shoot 200g pills 2900+ if possible. So, where would be a good start? 28 Nosler? 7saum possibly? Pros cons

Good to have you here. My 28 nosler has a 28 inch barrel an pushes 195 bergers 3140fps. I use this gun primarily for hunting whitetail on big wheat fields and it works great. However if your planning on using this to shoot steel and practice there are better choices due to their short barrel life.

You are in luck as one of the best gunsmiths in the country is in Oklahoma. Jon Beanland has made 2 rifles for me and both shoot 0.25 MOA groups in the Oklahoma wind! I live in Oklahoma and can say he was fantastic to work with. He is working on 2 more rifles for me as this is written. Below is one of the 7mm Rem Mag rifle groups from his work of art for me.
PS: The 7mm RM is very capable of shooting 1200 yards. You just need a little faster twist barrel, a great trigger and lots of practice with heavy for bore bullets. If you need his contact information let me know.

I have read that 28 Nosler is hard on primer pockets.

I heard a lot of good thing on the 7mm RM, Saum as well as the 7mm Sherman Max. Im thinking the max isnt the way to go just to gain a 100 FPS over the Saum or RM... I could be wrong here... Scott I would be very interested in reaching out to Jon Beanland. Thank you
