I'm not a hard-core LR operator, nor do I practice the art of the 1K yard steel ringing. I'd like to think I'm just a simple man with simple goals- like a rifle that has accuracy! Sure, I've owned a sub-moa Kimber Montana in 325 wsm but I don't reload. That rifle loved 180 gr factory ammo which I cannot locate any longer. I replaced this rifle (although I'm rebarreling it next year) for a different one as my "go to" moose rifle.
I ended up with a Fierce 300 WM. I barely had time to get it put together and sighted in before hunting season. Adhering to Fierce's barrel break-in (subjective) I am more than pleased. I have yet to stretch her legs beyond the minimalistic 100-yd mark. I was definitely chasing my tail this year, but have a lot to look forward to next year; like trying to ring steel at 1000 yds and using my first-ever zero stop (Leupold V-X5 HD 3-18x44 w/fire dot). More to come on this post as I have a few things I need to do, like swap my rings/base to low mount versions. Here's a few pics...
