Yep it looks like everybody is coming out with about the same idea that CVA had years ago. I am still shooting the black sabot and Hornady 250 gr XTP pistol bullet in my 50 cal. just like I have for a looooog time. It goes where I aim it and every deer I have shot with it is DRT.

I was with you on the 250gr XTPs and black sabots until I moved to CO. Here they don't allow sabots or scopes. The federal Bor Lok bullets are written in as legal, powerbelts and the hornady bullet above would likely fall into the same category as "non-sabot". The whole thing is stupid to me, but these bullets exist for a lot of the same reasons .350 legend exists.

Interesting approach. Thor Hammer bullets also have a hollow base but it is a one piece copper bullet with only a portion of the skirt engraving the rifling. Wondering if the Hornady base will come off in flight?

All these designs are a revisit of the Minié bullet from Civil War era.

Talking about muzzleloader stuff have you all seen the Federal Firestick. I can believe so many states are allowing this.

The buddy just sent me the link to that new gun and it's firing system. Looks like a pretty good handful of states have legalized it. Looks like it burns that triple 8 which I think is a Muzzleloader propellant.

I guess that each state needs to define their season. Some have primitive arms season and some have muzzleloader season. I suppose since the bullet does have to go in from the muzzle it's a muzzleloader.
