I would say that your statement is correct except for one fact: Gun control does NOT work.
From my perspective you both do very well getting your point across and also agree with most all of your posts. A bit late to this party, sorry, figured the last one that we were all a part of would get axed sooner or later.

This... ABOVE.... is right on target. Some may not like to discuss politics and that is fine but as hunters and shooters we can no longer just avoid the situation. We need to discuss peacefully, respectfully, in order to stay informed. As a hunter if not here, then WHERE?

Works to instill fear and danger to God fearing honest folk!! Makes being a criminal (Gov or Private sector) safer......
Gun control, AKA People control, will obviously make being a criminal (Gov or Private sector) much safer. However, the obviousness of such back-handed maneuvers will be lost on a vast portion of the populace until it is far too late for all the military-style weapons that have already been melted down for sewer covers. You know, all the military-style weapons such as semi-auto anything, along with anything with riflings or without. Practice your swordsmanship. You may soon need it. Catapults anyone?
Very true and has been proven time and time again, but it fits their narrative so they keep pursuing it. In turn people panic and there's more guns on the street because of it. Obama did a great job for gun sales and was a big NRA spokesperson. Now that we've got a 3rd term coming up, expect the worst. Especially since the NRA appears to be silent or in their pocket. Not sure if I need to donate more or less money to the NRA?
The only time it probably worked is when they had the "stop and frisk" and taking guns from criminals. Or when they could address peoples behavior or situations that seemed suspicious from criminals.

"Stop and frisk" may be the only kind of gun control that would ever help stem crime. Wouldn't it be nice if stopping crime and violence were the focus of the gun control movement? Wouldn't be nice if we weren't all being lied to?

I didn't plan for this to go for as long and far that it has I just thought anyone who was patriotic like me would enjoy it I realize we are in touchy times but if the few don't stand they will all have us kneeling to every stupid thing that comes along so I'm glad you guys have carried the ball and I hope you continue to do so in your life's endeavors. You should be proud. I've only been here a short time, but this is the longest thread in the shortest time span I have seen on any forum. It is also the most important thing we, as gun owners, have to discuss now and for the foreseeable future. No one can know the whole of this situation at this time, but not starting this conversation would not be in our best interests.
IMHO that is what it's going to take to get our point across, "We The People " are going to have to go to DC and show ( Peacefully ) that we have had enough of this

Problem with that is they could care less what we think. They don't need your vote. They have proven it. Out in the open, in our faces. They only care about money and power. Take away either and then they might come to the table.
