Mauser Identification

Gentlemen. I have a Mauser rifle that I am trying to identify.
It is Naked, Blank, Bare except for the serial number. MAG - 216xx. 1942 era?
MAG?? ... on a different receiver that is Mauser machine gun.
No proof marks.
Nothing. Finish is smooth with no obvious sign of polishing.
However the MAG - 216xx is clean and deep.
The barrel is ALSO, Naked, Blank, Bare. No caliber nor gunsmith.
I was told it is a 7mm MAG .... and bore mikes out to .277 lands.
I do not have a 7mm Mag cartridge yet to try but even that doesn't really confirm caliber.

This site has a plethora of knowledge and experience so I'm tossing this out here.

Have you tried removing the barreled action from the stock?

The bottom of the action and the sides of the rear tang often have been marked with information.

Any further comments are simply guessing because we need clear sharp photographs of the action from all angles.

Appears to be a GOLDEN STATE SANTA FE commercial rework that were built on ex military mauser actions.

Decent gun from the 50s- 60s made in Spain.

What ex-military Mausers were manufactured without a "thumb cut" on the left receiver wall ? It was used during loading with a stripper clip.

Cast the chamber, throat, and part of bore to verify the cartridge.

When you remove the front scope base, there may be markings on the receiver ring.
