I will never disparage the 6.5 CM. It is a very good choice if you are looking a very efficient, accurate, and mild recoiling rifle. Some added bonuses are plenty of rifle and factory ammo options. However, as I own four 6.5 x 55 rifles that can do all that 6.5 CM does and more, they are of little interest to me. I wouldn't pay too much attention to some the hype out there that would like you to think that this fine little round has some magical powers, it doesn't. But within its limits, it will serve you well.

So explain to me 1st what "tried and true" calibers your talking about. So if you can give me what you think it compares to, and I will give you an honest run down of why it most likely out performs most "tried and true" calibers.

Well, it surely doesnt do anything my 7mm and 300 mags dont do, and they're almost 60 years old now. Doesnt beat my 240 wby with 105s, or a 280 with 162/168s either. Doesnt beat anything in my safe, other than a 223. I guess if I wanted a kids rifle itd be just fine...Its nothing special. Gun writers get paid to sell rifles, keep that in mind, haha.

If someone started producing bullets and barrels with the same weights and shapes in 25 cal the 6.5 crowd would have some competition.
Or if Hornady would have chosen the 25-06 and built a heavy weight, high bc bullet and fast twist barrel it would compete and beat anything the 6.5 Creed can do.

Blackjack has the 131 ace with a legit 340g7 BC. Berger is in development of a heavier high BC pill and so is Hornady rumors say. The factory twists are the only limiting factors. My 26" 25 creed will push 131s @ 3020 w/ rl26 and there isn't a 6mm/6.5mm creed load that hold a candle to that out to 1k yards.

Yeah. Guess nobody was able to "sale" him. However it did serve once again to bring out the anti-6.5CM goon squad.
I won't recommend a 25cm wildcat over the saami 6.5cm to the OP. Getting loaded ammo off the shelf, especially with our current political and manufacturing situations/challenges.

I'd rather load my own then wait for stores to have loaded ammo. If stores dont have the ammo, you're back to square 1 and loading anyway. Factory ammo has absolutely no merit to me with rifles, since I havent shot factory in 20 years, and likely wont the rest of my life.
