So it's probably been stated by someone else but the "magic" if you can say that of the creedmoor is the same as 6.5 PRC and 300 PRC. If you're a guy that handloads and builds custom rifles then they give you no benifit over other cartridges IMO. The benefit of the creedmore and other modern cartridges is that SAAMI Spec for the cartridge is designed around modern high BC long for caliber bullets. What's that mean? You can go down to your local sporting goods store buy a factory rifle and load long high BC bullets (and have a rifle twist rate fast enough to spin em) and still fit them in your magazine. The gun has the ability to shoot modern bullets without any modifications, factory ammo, factory gun and you can ring steel at 1000 in an afternoon pretty cool. Then the man buns ruined it

If i lived in a place where animals weighing 300+lbs offered shots past 500 yards on a regular basis, id be shooting something with more snap ( if i could get the recoil reduced considerably ) . Where i live, the 6.5 creedmore fits pretty good.

What I saw this year is the larger calibers are wasted energy. The 6.5 entered expanded and stopped before exiting
Well after my experiences on elk I've found similar but come to a different conclusions.

My brothers big tanker cow got hit with 143 grainer at 515 yards. It never made it a yard. We recovered that 70% weight bullet on the hide opposite side. Mine was a clean pass through the liver and she made it 10 yards (down hill roll).

At the same location(400 yards) I hit a doe with a 215 Berger from an ultra through the heart. She ran and burrowed in the thickest crap atleast60 yards away. It seems like the shock to the nervous system woke her up.

So again to each there own but its worked well for me and some friends here even at modest longer ranges. I don't feel unethical since I've seen a guy hit a bull 4 times with a 300 win mag and I've never had to do that. And I've never lost one yet.

Why does your 338lapua have to be brought up unless your trying to flex for us. Your probably the type of guy that buys all the nicest and newest stuff and still has a rough day at the range flinching every time you pull the trigger, and its your gears fault.

I was just joking man. As I've mentioned. I like all the calibers and enjoy messing with them all. It's just a savage nothing fancy. Try not to get to boiled up on your holiday.

Looking threw your history looks like you have killed or have been around creedmoor kills I only shoot steel with mine so you probably have an honest opinion for hunting.

My shoulders are both damaged so yes I now hunt with my kids lighter gun a lot. I can't carry them heavy suckers all the time and I don't like using muzzle brakes with my kids ears around. So yea I have toys but no they dont hinder my freezer being filled.
