7mm 169 Hammer Hunters BC

I would like to hear from others who have shot the 169 Hammer Hunters at long range... What actual BC did you come up with? I'm seeming to come up short - needed about 6.2 mils elevation for 925 yds with my "0" at 200 yd. and an MV of 3,080. I didn't do the calculations to see exactly what that makes the BC... Like to hear what more of you have found on this. Likely has been other posts, but I must not have hit the right key words to find them.

I appreciate that. Was hoping to hear from others to see what their personal experiences have been, but this is helpful.

I run the 199gr hammer in my 300 Norma imp and they come up right around what Steve posed them at. G7 of .299. I don't have a ton of testing with them but I've had them out past 900. If you look when he lifts what they are some say estimated some say calculated from bullet drop. The 199's are calculated from bullet drop. Hope that helps

Yes sir. I noticed that. Unfortunately the 169's are listed as Estimated, so I was hoping to hear from others if they were seeing similar results as myself or if this is an anomaly - or if another factor is off, such as an inaccurate chrono... This is our busy work season and I don't have time to play around a lot with it so figured I'd try this forum as a start. Thanks though. Someday I'll get me a 300 Norma Imp! Like em.

Just went out and shot these today out of my 28 nosler. MV 3250-3270fps. I shot a 1 3/4" group at 400 yards, but it was 2" low or 1/2 MOA low. In order for me to gain that 1/2 MOA (from 4.3 to 4.7 correction) I'd need to go from .285 G7 to .210 G7. on the ballistic calculator. I'll need to do more verification at longer yardages. It'll become apparent quite fast out past 800. Just play with the G7 numbers on your ballistic app until the correction matches how low you were hitting, if you know the true velocity. Let me know what you find also please!! But man these bullets are accurate and consistent. May just be an 800 yard max range killing bullet, which is as far as I'd ever like to stretch at an animal anyway.

Yeah, it was just the only info I had at the moment. Just tested them out to 830 yards yesterday. Revamped the BC to .207 on the G7.

Well once I know my average velocity, by chronoing my bullet, I just adjust the BC to get the correct elevation. Especially in this case when the bullet has an "estimated" BC.
