Just finished assembling my .375 Raptor AR10.

This thead lost it's BALLS by going small BORE.

It's not a 375 Raptor, but works pretty darn well.......

very nice rifle. It sounds like you've built your fair share of these wildcat AR's, so if you don't mind a sidetrack, I'd like to ask you some questions about 2 of the other cartridges you mentioned.

Right now I'm looking for a barrel to build a 6x45, but every place I've looked is out of stock, and I've seen comments that the cartridge is dying. Is that an accurate assessment? If not, do you have any suggestions for a good (available) barrel?

Next, since I came up empty on the 6x45, I briefly considered the 6.5 grendel, but everything I've seen out there is the II chamber with the longer .120 throat - and the comments I've read on line suggest that accuracy has suffered as a result of the redesign, unless the bullet is loaded out farther (matching the correct bolt to chamber is not a problem, I'm only concerned with the accuracy potential). Of course, many comments are hearsay and bluster, so I'd prefer to ask someone who has actual knowledge of the cartridge. Ultimately, I'd much rather have a rifle that shoots well while utilizing the magazine, rather than ending up with a single shot semi that needs a long COAL to shoot well. Going only by comments off the internet, it sounds similar to the 6.8 spec 2 redesign which may have been fine for safely and reliability, but I never saw a spec 2 which shot as accurately as the originals.

I have both the 6x45 and the Grendel. The 6x45 is Awsome. my Grendel is also good but I can't get any factory ammo in the 123 to shootbetter than moa. In either of mine. But handloads are great.
funny this came up because I haven't shot it in years and just got the idea back out to load up some 70gr hammers.

I have a 6x45 in a savage bolt gun with a 22" barrel. Shooting 55gr varmageddon from the very first shots with zero load development produced a sub .500" group at 100yds. Very easy to load for and fun to shoot

the post you quoted was from 2 yrs ago; and in the meantime I've built 2 grendels. Due to the small powder capacity, I decided to limit them to 300 yd rifles, so rather than going heavy and slow I stick to the lighter +/- 100 gr bullets. Out of all the powders I've tried, both rifles like H335 the best. My faxon gunner barrel will shoot sub 1/2" 3 shot groups on a good day. The BCA heavy fluted bbl will often put them all into a ragged hole....but only with the muzzle device removed. For some reason that BBl is intolerant of any kind of brake.

I did put together an xcaliber 6x45 also. It shoots well enough, but not "better" to the point where I prefer it over all my 223 builds. And I never had the time to really expirament with it. Unfortunately. Because I went all out with xcaliber's options, even the cryo treatment. what load do you shoot through yours?

Ha didn't see that. Well I think you chose well. I also feel my grendels do best with 100gr bullets. I like the eld and hammers. Did ok on some big deer at 200-300 with the 123 but they had minimal expansion

I was also using blc 2
Trying cfe 223 tomorrow. This thread has me getting mine back out.

the 6x45 is a fun cartridge to shoot and reload for. Brass is dirt cheap and it's not been finicky with the powder I've used.In my avatar picture is a whistle pig I shot at 60yards with my savage 6x45 using a 55 nosler varmagedon. I'm anxious to try it out on larger game

Man this is awesome! Great looking rig and man she shoots! What does she weigh as it sits?

I just got a BNIB Rock Ricer LAR- .308 I am thinking of redoing into a 7-08 and looking into a barrel I was going to use a Kreiger again, but wanted to go super light than looked into BSF barrels and my buddy says you gotta try a X-Caliber man they shoot! His is the same way as yours on his .204!

I built the Ar 10, but I went with a rifle length gas tube + 2 inches on a 24 inch barrel. I wanted to get all the velocity that i could. but the Raptor loading data page shows about 50 fps higher in a 22 inch over an 18 inch.

Digging this post up as I had a post on my Instagram roll across with the 375 Raptor in it!

looks like a thumper for sure! Looks like 18" is most ideal for length and performance?

how's the recoil? Take anything with it?
