My dad wants a new rifle.

All of the rifles you mentioned are great but heavy you may look at CA and Browning and kimber just to name a few that are a little lighter
Not all the Bergara are that heavy. At least the one I built isn't. There a few others in the Begara line that are quite light also. The Highlander, Stalker, and Mountain models start around 6-6.5 lbs.

My dad is looking at getting a new rifle. He has it narrowed down to three options: Bergara B-14 Wilderness, Bergara Premier Series, or the Seekins Havak PH2. All three rifles will meet his shooting/hunting needs. Is spending the extra ~$800 worth is to get the Bergara Premier or the Seekins Havak PH2?
I have a Bergara B-14 Wilderness... Hands down, best (off the rack) rifle I've ever owned.
Actually, better than some of my semi-customs. They are worth EVERY penny.

I have a Bergara B14 in 6.5 creedmore. I had one of their first guns and the bolt shroud was defective. They sent me a new bolt shroud. However, they started piercing the primers on about every 4-5 shots.

I contacted Bergara and was told by hand loading it voided the warranty. I researched it and found there is several people who have had this problem. It seems the hole for the firing pin is too large and that causes the primer to pierce.
I was not happy with Bergara's response so I had a gunsmith fix it. So $125ish later it is up and running.
I would not buy a Bergara if I was going to reload. Great rifle otherwise.

When you get to spending that kind of money for not that much more you can have a custom rifle built

This is why I never ask what rifle to build or buy. It boils down to personal preference/intended purpose. Don't complicate it unnecessarily, let him pick what he thinks feels right for him.

I too have the Bergara Premier Highlander and love it. With that being said I don't think the Seekins would disappoint you either. If you would like a more economical rifle the Tikka rifles shot really well. My goal is to have a few of them each.

Rifles; arguably you can't have too many of them. There is always another one that fills that niche you didn't know existed...until you read about it in a magazine. So after spending a few years on this site, reading thousands of lines of print I put my money on a Fierce firearm, in .338 Lapua Mag. The company guarantees 1/2 MOA at 100 yards. Five shots to sight in and the next three went into 1/2 MOA. Absolutely no complaints.
I just purchased a 7mm Mag from Fierce and I think that's why Dad wants a long range set up too. I can't wait to shoot it once it comes in.
