Light weight FFP scope

ZCO 4-20x50 is 34.5oz. I have two of these.
Kahles K5-25x56 is 34.2oz.

10oz more than the March F1 3-24x52. But better glass, and better reticles.

Tangent Theta TT315M is 27.7oz, but you lose a lot on the top end. But glass quality more than makes up for it.
March F 3-24x52 is 24.4oz. I think it is just about the lightest FFP high mag scope out. Price tag is a bit north of $3K though.

I had a March 3-24x52 for a while, but eventually sold it and purchased another TT315M. Plenty of magnification for a hunting scope on deer sized game out to any reasonable hunting distance. I run one on my .280AI.
The March is ideal if weight is of absolute concern. But honestly the glass isn't the greatest, at least mine is not. The eyebox/parallax is sensitive but with proper setup and attention, no issue. I think the nx8 4-32x50 wing 4oz heavier and close to half the price is a better bargain, I have two of those. I still am a huge fan of the k624i. My last one was purchase new for 2100$ and it's lighter with a slightly better eyebox than the k525i.

The scope manufacturers need to wake up and start producing lighter hunting style ffp scopes. Leupold could easily jump on that market by adapting their ffp mk5 internals into a vx5 body.
And making sure the turrets stay at low profile is important as well so they don't get caught in branches when going in tight scrub.
Double turn turrets is more than enough for most hunting applications.

I agree 100% with the March glass observation. That is why I sold mine.

I agree 100%, idk why the trend for ffp scope is heavier the better. Granted the prs guys can be hard on things, but their guns are heavy af, and are low recoil cases, they're not being stressed other than getting thrown around on position changes. Turrets don't matter on the mk5hd, windage is capped and elevation is locked. Vx6hd I believe is locking both elev and wind, it's been some time since I sold mine.
