x-5's

I know they are only MOA, but I have a few and think they are a great scope for the weight and features. There doesn't seem to to be a strong following for them. I could not be happier with the performance, clarity, resolution, turrets and tracking. Tell me what you all think. Am I missing something ? I consider x-5's to be the best LR hunting optic.

Have two of them. If they hadn't discontinued the non-illuminated version they would probably be more popular, but there aren't many people willing to spend that kind of money ($3k) on a SFP scope. The glass is true Swaro glass and the dialing has been great so far.

I'm surprised they discontinued the non-illuminated version. I picked one up a few months ago and really like it. It's built well, tracks well and the glass is amazing. I grew up with SFP scopes so that's all I really know.

My favorite scope. I bought 3 of the non-illuminated when they discontinued them. I don't think there is a better hunting scope for the money.

I also have a few of them. The glass was better than the atacr's that I had before. I also wish that they would not have discontinued the non illuminated model. I have a illuminated one waiting for a build that is almost done. The weight is also respectable for the amount of glass. I didn't like the brm reticle that much so I have all the 4wx ones. I like the floating cross hairs. All of mine are in the 5-25 mag range.

I own one...and like it, wish they were a bit lighter, but they do dial spot on...turrets are a pain in the butt to set but are rock solid when done.glass is spectacular

There seems to be non illuminated X-5's in the classified's on a fairly regular basis

I have 2 of the 5-25 X5's, non-illuminated. Very nice scopes and the glass is fantastic.
But I find I struggle a bit as I'm so used to FFP Mil scopes so I'm not sure I'll be keeping them.

Mostly because the popularity is with FFP and much better reticles.. Swarovski hasn't caught on with better reticle options. Why have hash marks if you need to use an app just to know what measurement the hash marks mean on the different magnification settings. Pain in the .... and useless. You have to dial or be on 25x to keep it consistent.

I just bought a new X5i and I have a question for all of you. Is the focus adjustment rough on yours when you are nearing infinity? Mine feels like it's dragging on something the last 1/4 turn of the knob. Thanks

You mean the parallax adjustment? That is not the focus, that's parallax. The focus is near the eye relief and should be set once and good to go. When you adjust the scopes parallax to put the target on the same plane as your reticle it seems like you are adjusting the focus. Your scope can be in focus and have the wrong parallax causing misses... especially when there is a lot of mirage.

But rough at 1/4 on the parallax, mine isn't. Could be at the end of the parallax adjustment and the parallax cap is incorrectly installed...
