What's your bonehead move of the day?

Started setting up my 650 to process 223. First I just hand lubed a few to make sure it was correct. Then I will spray a whole bunch at once and then just run the press. Well I kept grabbing brass to deprime and grabbing and ****. Stuck case. Knowing I knew it was going to need more lube. Sometimes they can be a beach to get out. Had to bring it to work actually. ******* I said to myself.

Not recently, but last year I ran through and loaded 50 rounds for some long range validation and hunting season, all of them were new 7 mag brass that had been once fired. Realized I didn't check my case length before I loaded after first firing…all of them were at least .003" over max case length!! So I spent some time pulling bullets, dumping powder, knocking out primers, trimming, essentially started over fresh. That sucked!

This wasn't this week but in the last couple months. I was having accuracy issues with my 7mag. I was spinning in circles trying to figure it out then somehow finally figured out I was way over sizing my brass my die had some how got screwed in and I don't remember doing this myself.

Not gun but hunting related. Bought an Excalibur crossbow for this season from a friend. Was excited to get the scope sighted in for this weeks hunt. On about the 6th shot the handle came off the crank that pulls the string back. The screw had worked itself out and I never noticed any wiggle or anything else indicating this. Well, the crank turned into a meat grinder and I won't be hunting for a unspecified amount of time. Can't even bend my trigger finger let along clean a deer.
I know exactly what that feels like and it looks very painful many years ago while grouper fishing off the coast of Florida my anti reverse quit working on a reel while battling a large grouper and the handle Spun backwards and beat my thumb to death it resembled yours

I can relate to the Thumb issue. I took the tip off my index finger on Saturday cleaning up the yard with a pair of shears. My wife said well I can't stitch that one back on you better go to the ER. She had to go to work so I cleaned it out put it back together and drove myself in. They seem to get you in quicker when you show up with blood soaked bandages.

The whole pad of my trigger finger is numb, and makes pulling the trigger a bit tough but oh well I still went hunting the next day. The weather is too nice and I wait all year for fall, you can't let something like this keep a guy out of the woods.

I hope you have a speedy recovery.

Building a rifle for my good friend and got it all dialed in on the lathe. Went to start making measurements on the action for the tenon, etc and realized I was out of oversize recoil lugs. Now I have to wait 3 days.

3/4 lb of nitrogen based fertilizer. Similar burn rates but I wasn't interested to see if "might work". The flowers loved me.
Made me nearly sick to my stomach when I did that—poured less than 10 grains back into the wrong powder container and had to throw the entire canister out.

I did not know it made great fertilizer so I even lost out on that benefit!

Been screwing around with some 150gr ttsx in the 300 rum. Sent one at the 300yd gong today....bad idea

We had one do the same thing Sunday at 300 it was a 22 creed running 3500 makes a nice copper lined hole we run a test trying Barnes lrx and hammers trying to salvage bullets to see expansion we used a mineral tub full of water I thought a guy should put something on top of the tub to keep water from splashing out I decided not to use my 200 dollar coat to keep it from getting wet so there was a card table in the shooting house I laid on top of the mineral tub big mistake it blew the mineral tub all to pieces and busted a hole in the card table the size of a basketball had to go tell the guy who owns the range I owed him a card table who would of thought that 22 caliber bullet would of done all that glad I did don't use my coat we did salvage the billets they worked as described the Barnes did retain more total weight than the hammer and expanded half again as much.
