So I am seriously considering a 300 PRC for my next long range hunting rifle. I like the idea of it just have some likely ridiculous concerns about the velocity of factory ammunition. I have a loader but also 2 very nosy and sneaky kids under 6 so my wife doesn't want it set up. I'd love to see a consistent 3100 with 210 grain bullets but I don't see any way to get there without loading or a 32 inch barrel. What are my choices?

Guys are doing it with RL26 but If you want that speed without having to hope for a fast barrel and marry one powder that your barrel may not even like, you need a bigger case. A 30-28 Nosler at a minimum.

I love mine but I just don't think it fits what you're asking of it, that's healthy numbers

I'm running 3120 with mine with RL26 and 210 Lr accubond in a 26" 3 groove Lilja., ADG brass. And it shoots very well !! Hunting rifle so not worried about barrel life! Was very easy to find a good load on my first ladder .

If you can talk your wife into a loader, build a 30 SM. You can shoot 300 PRC ammo, albeit a little slower but very accurately.
The 30 SM, reloaded, will run the 245 Bergers at 3000' with a 28" barrel with no brass issues! ADG head stamped brass and reamers and dies in stock.
215's will max at 3300 with a couple powders

Defensive Edge built me a 300 PRC with their +P barrel. 26 inch Hart barrel, ADG brass, H1000, 215 grain Berger. 3130 fps. This was 2 weeks ago in Colorado. 587 yards. One shot behind right shoulder, bullet remains were in hide on left side. Lungs were mush, he hunched up for about a second, and fell over.

I have one, she just doesn't want it set up in the house with out 2 young and nosy kids.

One last detail that I probably should have mentioned is we live at the coast about 1.5 miles from the Atlantic Ocean and I know a lot of your members here live and hunt at elevation, we have none. Our house is only a few feet above sea level.

Congrats! That is a very nice bull. I am building a very similar rifle, do you mind sharing the recipe you're using for the 215 hybrids and barrel twist?
