Rangefinder input

Thats fine and dandy, but I guess I prefer to sneak in and get as close to my quarry as possible to reduce the risk of any sort of misplaced shot cause the critter took a half a step. I guess you can use these forums for more than one purpose. I sure gather much more knowledge from this site on many topics aside from LONG RANGE HUNTING. FYI thanks for your informative feedback. Move along.
Thats fine and dandy, but its right in Lens rules for this site no discussing ethics.

The Leica 2800.com lists for $749. Some venders advertise promotions which generally mean no sales tax or 10-12% off list. It does show the rate of inclination. The beam divergence specs should make it accurate in tight spots. This has been discussed on other forums by folks a lot smarter than me. The Bluetooth connectivity is a nice feature if the poster thinks they may want to use a weather meter/ballistic solver with Bluetooth capabilities. I traded up to this unit from a 20 year old Nikon, so maybe I'm easily impressed.

You're the guy that used Len's illegal word, the OP never brought it up. For your information, there are tons of posts where people have referred to shots at less than 500 yards as long range, I don't call that long range but I certainly won't tell them that they can't post because I disagree with their idea of what long range is. The OP simply wants help selecting a range finder, not a lecture from someone who's in a cranky mood.

No cranky mood here, O.P is the one who brought up over 450 was shooting not hunting

If you want a simple range finder look at the Leica 2400r doesn't do anything fancy but range, it does compensate for angles. They are $550 online so if you get a discount there you go that would be a great option. I have this model and it works great, I wish it had ballistics for me but it works.
