How often do you clean your hunting rifle

Depends on the rifle.
Some of mine shoot as well from bare steel as others do fouled. I map the cold/clean vs cold/dirty for each.
Typically get the load dialed in. Clean it to bare steel. Then shoot a group and put it away. Then take it back next time and shoot a cold/dirty and a follow up. Do this a couple times on different days (cold/ambient temps). If it repeats, it goes in the safe for the season.
clean it to bare steel once season is over. Sometimes I will punch it with a dry patch after each session for consistency.

I have a hard time putting them away dirty though.

I clean it as often as needed (but not the copper out of the barrel)!
I say that if the barrel is broken in and copper build up is minimum. I use a carbon solvent only after that when needed and pay attention to the lead so carbon doesnt build up there (ring) Ive found that this gives the most consistent and best accuracy rather than stripping all the copper out and then shooting until it settles back in.

I sight in and hunt with a cold clean barrel. You can't tell to what degree a barrel is fouled, but with todays bore scopes you sure can tell when it's clean. Before the foam cleaners, I would run a patch soaked with Sweets 7.62 through the barrel, if it came out with any green tinge, I would use my Outers Foul Out system, which through a kinda' reverse electroplating would remove all the copper. Now days, the foam cleaners reduce the need to use the OFO system except maybe once a year. After each daily hunt, I use a Bore Snake with just a touch of Rem Oil. Next morning, a simple dry patch gets it ready for the day. Prepping for storage, it/they go back to clean with touch of Rem Oil.

I've switched to this approach with my 6.5 CM and and also getting more consistent accuracy. I cleaned to bare metal after every outing for the 1st 200 rounds and was chasing my tail trying to find the perfect load. Had it one day and it was gone the next, I have a 03A3 Springfield that looks like the barrel is made of copper. My father and I have put well over 2,500 Remington 180 grain core-lokts and it still shoots three under 1 moa.

i talk to target shooters they say whenever they notice their groups growing
I also hear after every time they go out shooting
And the old timers that tought me to hunt said never go to the woods with a clean barrel. What do you do

I can't stand to go more than 20-40 rounds without cleaning. All of my rifles are hunting rifles. They get shot year round for practice, load tinkering, and killin'...
