Hey guys! Hope everyone is well. I am looking for recommendations for a rear bag for hunting applications, not the bench. I would like it to be lightweight with enough stiffness that I can lay it flat or stand it vertically if I need to change the height for my shooting.

I am shooting a GA Precision 6.5 SAUM with a Manners EH1 stock and an Atlas bipod.

Thanks for the recommendations.

Tab Rear Bag

SAP Run N' Gun

If weight isn't an issue, Pint Size Game Changer with lite fill

There's lots of other options out there. I personally wouldn't use a wedge bag with the options we currently have. You can't use a wedge bag on-top of a pack frame, tree limb/stump, fence post/rail, etc.

I use a Bison Tactical- Udder bag. The old style not the new fat boy. The one I'm using is from when they were working with warhorse development. Warhorse's version is the Saracen.

I put Git-lite fill in mine and it only weighs 2#s but I haven't notice a change in usability from when it weighed 6.5#s.
It works well for a field bag. I can put it on top of a post or rock to rest the forend on with a nice wide stable place, or I use it as a flexible rear. the legs can be the rear rest when I don't need much elevation, or I can turn it to the side when I need a lot under the stock.

Monopod! Adjustable!

I thought of something else you should know about in your quest. I had a "Str8Laced" bag from Tab Gear. While it's a very lite weight bag with several features, it seemed like the internal fill broke down to where you couldn't get it to pack into a solid rest. At this point in my shooting it seems like a solid rear contact is pretty important.

here Is a photo of the rugged ridge rear support. Weighs 3-4 oz. Fits in your pocket

I carry Phoenix shooting bags with me on all my western hunts. I hunt Coues deer every year on they provide a great steady rest in lots of shooting positions.
