New ultralight Titanium muzzle brake in the works

Finally got out to do some testing of the new line of muzzle brakes I have been working on.

A couple weeks ago I put a 4 port version on my new browning hells canyon speed chambered in 300 PRC. It's just a little over 8 lbs scoped. The brake weighed .99 oz, and is 2.125" long. Its the best performing brake I've shot to date. I shot one round without the brake on it and it shoved me and the rifle off the back of the table I was shooting off of.

Fast forward to this last Sunday. I'm having my nephew use this gun on an elk tag he drew. He's 14 and as skinny as you could possibly imagine. He weighs a little under 100 lbs and is 5'9". He shot it and said he hardly even noticed the recoil.

For a brake this small I am thoroughly impressed with the performance! More info to follow! Our tentative launch date is November 1st.

Whats the concussion to the shooter like? Looks really nice

I didn't notice it at all. My dad said he could tell it was hitting him when he was spotting, and shooting the 5 port prototype on his gun. Wife and nephew didn't notice it at all, which is saying something considering they have hardly shot before.

For now, they will all be one piece and require timing. Self timers will be available early next year.

Sizing wise, initially there will be 3 diameters, .760, .860, and .990. OAL is 2.25 4 port and 2.75 5 port. Threads available will be whatever ones I can fit without being too thin walled. They will have wrench flats, but the back section can be tapered. Weight for the .760 is around 1oz, .860 is around 1.5 oz, and the .990 is around 2.2oz. Obviously weights are bore and thread dependent.

I have 20 or so of the initial design that I'm just trying to offload. The only difference is the first port is closer to the the thread shoulder on these.

I just bored one of these 990 series for a .338that had 3/4-24 threads. It was right at 2.0 oz.

After these first ones (Rev A) are gone they will only be available thru the reseller starting Nov. 1st.

I bought 2 self-timing 5 ports and in my opinion they are outstanding in all respects.

The port geometry is updated, and they have a more aggressive back angle. They function better than my 5 port self timers for sure, but there will be slightly more concussion off the new design.

They are on the Rokslide.com store under muzzle brakes. I don't think he officially has them up on the store yet (not sure if you can actually place an order yet) were also going to figure out how to sell the "old rev" ones also.


I just finished up 35 of the "760 series" and 25 of the "860 series". There will be reviews from Jeff Brozovich and some other people up soon also.
