Good day everyone

Sorry but I'm looking for advice once again. Well we are still in the Covid-19 virus and still shipment is slow. So for the last year or 2 we don't really get Nosler Accubond 180gr and my 300 Win Mag just love that bullet. So I want to find out from the guys that reload 300's are which bullet do they think are the better one? To keep in mind the range we hunt is at 70% at 100yards, 20% at 150 yards and 10% at 200 yards.
The bullets that we do get here a lot are as fallow:
Sierra Gamekings 180 gr
Hornady ELD-X 200gr
Berger Elite Hunter 185 gr
Berger VLD Hunter 190 gr

I'll be waiting for your reply because here's a debate going on and no real solution.

Thank you

At those ranges, any of them will serve you well for elk/moose size game. From your list, "my" personal choice would be the 190 Berger VLD. Shot placement is still a big factor regardless of bullet choice.

The 190s HVLDs would be my vote also. They may take a little more to find the seating depth but they definitely hammer.

If you could track down some 208 AMaxs they would be a sweet choice also but they seem to be pretty thin these days.

From your list, Sierra.

Not on your list, Swift Scirocco II is a great bullet. Some folks claim they cant get it to group but I tend to believe that is because they want it <0.030" jump. Below is a recent 100 yard example of the 180 Scirocco II group out of my 2001 Win M70 Featherweight 300 WSM.

The only bullet I have experience with that you mentioned, is the 200gr eldx. It happened to be a difficult bullet to load for accuracy in my 300 win mag. I have heard more people that had accuracy difficulties with it than people who were able to get it to shoot well. That being said, it was an approximately 1 moa bullet in a rifle that would shoot 1/2 moa with other bullets. So If you are not shooting very far, that bullet is regarded by many people to have great terminal performance on medium game.

I shoot the 212gn ELD-X in my .300WinMag but have only taken one whitetail with it just at 100yds. Slightly quartering, left shoulder, one shot, no tracking.
I shot quiet a few of them at paper, enough to know they have better ES/SD than 215gn Hybrid Bergers in my rifle and my chamber was set up for the Bergers! Velocity was about the same, and accuracy at 100yds (load development) was close but when the range went to 1000yds the ELD-X's walked the walk. That's my experience though.

Ill second the Hammer bullets. Couldnt ask for better people to deal with. Bullets shoot great. Dont have to worry about shortages, order em and get em. They have some new absolute hammers out that are supposed to have some impressive increased velocities as well.

If all my shots were 200 yards and in i would shoot a bullet where angles dont matter.

Hammer, cutting edge or maybe barnes.

Nosler partition

@Botha, the above bullets are not on your list, can you get them in Namibia?

@RockyMtnMT Steve, I remember you working on the ability to export your bullets overseas before but l do not know the latest status. Can a Namibian resident buy them now?

Cheers!

Im not saying that you are wrong by any means but what I find interesting is that their Precision Hunter load with the 200 ELDs was a straight hammer out of my 300wm. It shot 3/8 moa without really trying. I never shot that line out of any other rifles though so it may have been the chamber I had cut. 🤷‍♂️
