Hello all first off not sure if this is the right place to post this question or not so if not please move it.my question is what stock will work with my savage model 11 vt in 308 it is the heavy 24inch barreled version with bottom bolt release. Didnt know if any one had experience with this style rifle or not.im just tires of the cheap plastic stock due to it not being a accu stock or even have pillars any info is greatly appreciated thanks

Might give Bell & Carlson a look. I've put them on Savage builds and have no complaints whatsoever...

Boyd's are less money, very strong, several styles, many color choices, but they definitely need epoxy bedded. Bell and Carlson are a little more money, lighter, several styles, some color choices and usually need bedding. Boyd's will inlet for heavier barrels, but not sure about the B&C. Savages are more difficult to bed, if you haven't bedded an action, perhaps have a smith bed it for you. Good luck

Agreed. I've always had the B&C stocks skim-bedded. Have a Savage 6.5 Creedmoor build in-progress right now going into a Boyd's Pro Varmint stock and it needs a lot more than just a skim bed. Good stocks nonetheless. ;)

That's a nice stock. I've bedded several, including one Savage.

I'd stay away from boyds stocks. They have split on my 45 Raptor 3 times. Their warranty is short. Buy something with a full aluminum bedding block and then add bedding. Have used the Bell and Carlson stocks with success on many guns.

Okay I really like the bell and carlson stock I've used them on 2 of my Remingtons

I have a couple B&C and have shot rifles with them, great stocks. For my new rifle, because I am threatening to try PRS I went with an MDT chassis. I prefer finely figured and deeply contrasting walnut that is hand checkered... but... I guess I need utility right now.

McMillan has my 110 barreled action fitting it to Game Warden. Not cheap, but it's a Mickey...

I have a Game Warden on my lefty long action and love it. It's not cheap by any means but buy once cry once I suppose. Also the customer service at McMillan was awesome when it came to getting the custom stock made for me.
