with the 245 grain berger bullets what would you load for powder and what velocity out of a 30 inch barrel

rifle is a custom with a 1/10 hart barrel.so i will not be shooting them then
I say try them in the 10 twist. If they don't work, i can tell you the 230s will work fine in a 10 twist barrel. The speed you'll see from a 378 case at 30 inches may be enough to compensate for the lack of twist. Perhaps at worst you'll lose a little bc.
Is that what Berger recommends? Because in general, in a 338 caliber, 1:10 should be good to 300 grns
Berger stability calculator says 1:10 is good
From the Berger site under specifications for the .30 cal 245 EOL bullet states minimum twist 1:9 or faster.
My mistake. I was looking at 338-378..
Thank you, I was about to make an appointment for an eye exam. At $60 per 100, would be a bit pricey for most to load some to test.
I need new glasses...just can't afford them now...

Don't over look h50 powder. My 30/378 shoots it well with 230's

Theoretically, what if someone wanted to shoot 160s out of it, which powder and twist? With a goal of 3600 to 3700fps
