Is this normal quality of kimber

I called kimber and they told me that all there rifles have this flaw

Be cool if this is their way of extra gas venting...from a hot load....
I don't see it being a hazardous situation...
There are lots of bolts and such that have sections cut out...doesnt make them much weaker....
Question is though....are all those spots in the same area when the barrel is in place...
Unique design....

Mine is in the same spot as the OP's. I don't have a problem with it either. It would have been nice if the rep explained it to the OP better, i.e., it is by design or something to that effect.
 
Relief cut for the front action screw

Sounds good to me but it appears it is ~.250" aft of the front action screw.

ADDED:

@jmsdad , I stand corrected, I took my rifle apart and the cut is in line with the front action screw. However, the screw is short enough and does not need relief.
