To wait for BR4, or not to wait...

With the G7 BR2500 discontinued and the new BR4 hopefully coming out in Nov, I'm torn between buying a new 2500 or waiting for a new BR4. I don't need the rangefinder now, but I will by Nov. Gunwerks told me the G4 will be "quite a bit smaller" than the BR2500 but no other details.
The kicker is my new rifle should be finished in Oct and I have an Aoudad hunt in Jan that I want to be very well prepared to take 500+ yrd shot if it presents. Gunwerks did tell me they are hoping for Nov, but that's not guaranteed.
I'm wondering if getting the latest and greatest will be worth it, or not since the BR2500 will do everything I need. On the other hand, a smaller package could come in handy next year when I go to AK after caribou.

Do you need 4000 yard ranging capabilities? Or is 2500 yards enough?
I shoot regularly out to 1500+, occasionally 1770. My Leica 1600B or G7 BR2 have served me plenty well.

The BR4 will go out that far? No, I don't need but maybe half that on a rare occasion. Is that and the smaller size the biggest differences?

I don't see the BR4 on their website. They have the BR2 and BR2500 but not the 4.

I've tried searching BR4, Gunwerks, and others but the Revic BR4 keeps coming up. I'll check it out on a laptop and see if there's a difference.

I googled it and found this...it also has BT connectivity which may or may not be important you. If the BR2 ranges as far as you need i would probably just go for thatl otherwise you are waiting past time to get comfortable for your hunt...when the point of a rangefinder is to help you be more successful on your hunt.

You might look into the Sig Sauer KILO2400ABS rangefinder . It has 7x magnification , and has a tripod mount included .
$1099.99 on some websites here on LRH .

It is programmable and will give your shooting solutions for up to 4 different cartridge profiles .
Download the KILO2400ABS app into your cell phone , enter your chosen bullet/velocity/scope height into 1 of 4 different profiles , and then link the phone to the rangefinder via bluetooth connection .
Once the 4 profiles are entered into your phone program , then link the rangefinder and phone together to download that data into the rangefinder . From that point on , the rangefinder will make all shooting solutions without the phone being used , ( except if you want live windspeed data , which can be read with the windspeed meter that is supplied that requires the windspeed meter to be attached to your cell phone , and phone and rangefinder be bluetooth linked together ).

It is more compact and lightweight than the 2500 BR4 , and has its internal weather station for temperature and atmospheric pressure that it will include in your shoot-to range calculations in either MIL or MOA .

I have 1 that will range out to 2000+ yards on steel plates , and will instantly give the needed elevation adjustments necessary , as well as it will input live windspeed data into the windage correction into the rangefinder via bluetooth , ( when using the cell phone ).

I am very satisfied with mine .
