Recommend a powder dispenser

The Charge Master Lite works great. It will occasionally overthrow with stick powders but spherical is usually dead on every throw. I think the last time I used it with spherical powder it overthrew one charge out of 50 by .1. I simply scoop out a little until it shows the correct charge and take the pan off the scale then set it back down to re-weigh the charge to verify that it is absolutely good. But it does not overthrow very often. Not like some of the other brands.

The Gen6 was, a great dispenser, until after a year and half of constant use, it would throw heavy, no matter how many times it was calibrated! It didn't make sense, to set it to 'underthrow", because that's not the intended purpose. Got an Intellidropper, and it 100% functional, fast & accurate.

If this was F-Class or another high precision discipline, I'd use that scientific Autotrickler combo, but it isn't. This LR hunting and we only need to be really really close.

Do you like the intellidropper better than the regular sized chargemaster?

I never tried one and I'm not an RCBS fan TBH. The Frankford Arsenal Intellidropper is as advertised. No drift, light wind currents don't seem to have much, if any affect (I do my loading in a very large ventilated auto shop). I keep thinking I want another to speed up production, with 223/556 and various hig round count Creedmoor's, but it's that fast! Only time it's "slow" is when using it for 28 Nosler & 300 RUM, respectively 80 to 100 grains of powder.
But I do still have my 5-0-5 beam for absolute verification, when needed.

I'm really happy with my RCBS chargemaster. It rarely overthrows and has always been repeatable. I recently pulled rounds from two years ago and re weighed the charges, they weighed the same.

Really like all the reviews on the new Frankford Arsenal Intellidropper.
Looks super fast, and trickles up to weight about as quick as dropping a charge and trickling yourself.
Hoping to get one before Christmas myself.

Cheers.

Just out of curiosity has anyone tested a throwers scale vs just a scale to determine how accurate and precise they really are? My question I guess is if you used a thrower set to say 59.5 gr, would you get 59.5gr 50/50 times? I've never tried this because I only have the hornady to measure powder but it would be a cool experiment to see it even to the 59.50 gr.

With the Autothrower/Autotrickler set up with a Sartorious (AND would be similar) balance it is accurate to 0.001mg and repeatable. However, that is the accuracy of the balance itself. In practice, when tuned properly, I get within a kernel + or - the set charge on at least 95/100 cases. A handful will be overthrown from a clumped group of kernels falling out of the trickler tube so I keep an eye of the scale reading and adjust/rethrow when needed and don't just throw every charge in a case without making sure it is at the proper weight. I have heard varying reports on the accuracy and precision of the mass produced auto weighing systems such as RCBS/Lyman/Hornady etc.

I use a chargemaster lite and love it. Started off being careful to keep it away from other electronics like a phone. I spot checked loads on many occasions to start off...very happy with accuracy and speed.

Thanks for all the replies guess I have some dispensers to research now.

Mine is underthrowing, I can set it to get close if I add a grain or so, but I have been weighing it on a second scale to double check it so it kind of defeats the purpose of having it.

What is stupid is it will read the 50g calibration perfectly each time, but anything else it shows heavier. Maybe an issue with the sensor deteriorsting over time? expected it to last more then a couple years With my light use, less then 5k rounds a year.

I use my Chargemaster to throw 0.3 grains under and the A&D FX 120 and Little dandy trickler to bring up to weight. I got 2 plastic powder measure/funnels and trimmed one until both were exactly even in weight. Can do 2-3 measures per minute. Measures down to a single powder "kernel". Not as cool looking as the Auto-thrower combo but my mad money is saving up for the Kestrel 5700 bundle and a new and un-needed varmint rifle build right now.

Until you use a charge master along with the A&D you don't realize how inaccurate they are. +/- 0.15 grain vs 0.02 grains is no contest. The charge master weight wanders all over. Mine does just what you are describing. cal weights are all over the place on the RCBS and has never been anything but the same exact weight on the A&D every time.

I don't trust electronic scales they sent me one with my new rcbs kit. I couldn't get it to weigh rite so I bought a 505 balance beam. I use pistol and ball powder and I can get the same charge for 300 at a time. I check them every 100 rounds just for the hell of it. As long as u don't go under a half a hopper it never changes.
