Custom 700 300PRC issues shooting it suppressed

I have a 300PRC that when I shoot it suppressed the brass gets stuck in the chamber. The bolt is not sticky when lifted up, but when pulling the bolt back I'm unable to eject the case from the chamber unless I smack the bolt handle with the palm of my hand. I have to really smack the bolt handle 2-3 times to get it to eject the spent case. When I remove the suppressor it ejects super smooth with no issues. It's a Remington 700 blueprinted action, Proof 26" CF barrel, running a Surefire SOCOM 300 can with the QD muzzle brake attachment. I am shooting factory Hornady ammo. The suppressor is rated to 300 WM and I called Surefire about shooting the PRC and they should be fine. No accuracy issues width suppressor. I'm shooting 1/2" to 1/4" three shot groups at a 100 yards. Anyone heard of this or experienced. Could the can be baffled to much and causing too much pressure? I'll post some pics of the brass. Again shooting only factory ammo at this point with planning on loading my own soon. Any thoughts, advice would be greatly appreciated.

How does the brass look once it's out of the chamber? Is the suppressed brass a lot dirtier? Could be there's carbon getting in there and not letting the brass release. Try cleaning the chamber super good then shooting it suppressed. Maybe your right on the border for it to let go.

I'll post some pics tomorrow. It is dirtier and it's also got a entirely differ look to it.

It sounds to me that the load is pressuring upon bullet release, this is a real thing that comes up across the Pressure Trace. It is a second pressure that resonates back into the barrel from muzzle pressure. A suppressor would only make this worse IMHO.

Cheers.

If the case is dirty on the outside, its a reverberation like Maniac stated.

Some suppressors are very restrictive and can use pressure waves to add more restriction or fight themselves, so to speak. With different bullet, powder, and barrel combinations you never really know how its all gonna work out.

If its not dirty on the outside, other than the neck, then its simply an overpressure, but typically this would happen without the suppressor as well.

Also sounds like you may have some primary extraction issues as well.

What do you mean by "sounds like you may have some primary extraction issues?"

Cycles perfect shooting it with the Suppressor off.

Generally, not extracting out of the chamber isn't really an over pressure thing, obviously something is happening differently with the supressor, but I don't think it's necessarily an "over" pressure sign. If this was so, it would also show up in other forms of pressure, such as increased bolt lift, the primer would show a little more pressure than the unsupressed brass, and with soft hornady brass, you would have an ejector mark. So I wouldn't worry about being over pressure.

However, pressure reverberation may very well be what is causing it vs. Unsupressed, it may be just enough to cause your rifle to have issues extracting. However, it is probably not the root cause of the issue, especially being built on a rem 700, and even more so if it has an RR prefix on the serial number. Check your primary extraction, there should be significant rearward movement from the bolt upon lift. I sent mine off to LRI, it had only around .050" of primary extraction, and was having issues similar to yours on 3rd fired brass. Upon receiving it back, it had nearly a quarter of an inch, and the issue went away, easy extraction.

Pics of fired suppressed brass. The case on the far left would not extract, I had to remove this case using my cleaning rod. The case on the left is noticeably dirty. The other 2 not so much but they definitely have different texture to them on the outside vs the unsuppressed spent cases. Outside of minor primer pressure I don't see any issues on the bottom of the brass. Remember also I cycled the bolt handle up and down several times on the Suppressed brass.

I checked the primary extraction and it appears I'm getting 1/8" at best upon lifting the bolt handle. I need to remove the scope for a closer look. I checked the serial# and I do have a prefix of RR. Are you saying RR serial# is more prone to have a primary extraction issue?

My 300 WinMag Blaser (not as powerful primary extraction) with a GEMTECH ONE works just fine and cases are spotless.

My best guess is that after the bullet exists and the case has shrunk down, there is still enough residual pressure in the can to send some crap back between the case and the chamber. Rather like you can get with low velocity cast bullet loads (although the cause is different.

How long since your can has been cleaned ? IMHO something is keeping the gas in the can after the chamber pressure has dropped.
