I have been a set and forget scope hunter for years.I have had good luck using scopes with BDC type reticles.I would like to try dialing. My main Rifle is a Tikka T3 270WSM.140 grain Berger at 3250 using Magnum Powder. So if I sighted in at 200 yards, what would it take me to reach 1,000
yards?I have been reading about the Tract,Meopta Optima 6 and Leupold VX5 3-15 scopes.I like that I can get a illuminated reticle on the Leopold and Meopta.Any comments or information would be highly appreciated. Thanks ahead,Huntz

This should be pretty easy to figure out with a ballistics app. I'd do it for you but that would take all the fun out of it. Create a chart using what you already know and see how many MOA elevation is between your zero and 1000

Takes me 18 MOA to get there with my .264 140gr, but they are pretty slippery and yours being bigger diameter is going to make them less slippery. As previously suggested you're probably going to end up between 20 - 25 MOA to impact at 1000yds.

This is what Ballistic gives. I guessed at 1,000 yards elevation and atmosphere. It'll get you started.

Something like a 308 pumpkin slinger will need >30MOA, my 6XC needs 22MOA. Keep in mind scope adjustment range as advertised is total adjustment so you'll want a good bit more than the minimum.

Go online and buy Strelok...for your phone...1st Version is free for Android...or about 7.00 for iPhone. Great way to get started! It will help you learn along the way and is good for 10 rifles or different loads
