7 SAUM and 195 Berger Initial Test

I've been running the 180 ELDM in my 7 SAUM with great success but recently had some suspected bullet blow ups so I decided to try a few 195 Bergers a friend had given me.

I loaded them to about 3.170" to fit in my medium magazines and seated them over an estimated max charge of H1000. The 5 I loaded piled into a tiny little cluster with some signs of pressure. I think I'll back it down a little bit and see if it'll settle in with no pressure at 2800 FPS.

Let us know how it goes. I'm shooting the 180 vlds and wouldnt mind trying these! Don't know if I can get away with it in my short action but my 180s sit at 2.885 oal. So maybe.

I ran 2 more test loads today in a little cooler weather. Both shot right around 0.5 MOA with no pressure signs.

I bet a little faster. I have 8 pounds of H1000 or I would try to get some RL26.

What's your barrel length? I have a 26" on a short action. I can load to 3" no problem, maybe I'll grab a box and try some with 570. If I could get around 2900 I wouldn't mind using them. I get the 180s to 3k pretty easily with 26
