Bipod broke my stock!!! Ever seen this?

The Washington State SWAT sniper course used to warn officers to not "snap" their bipods open or closed, as some stocks constructed like in the OP's photos, had broken.

Perhaps that doesn't address the issue - but indicates a certain weakness in that part of the stock.

That is mind blowing. I only have two guns that never wear a bipod. My entrance SBR for felony take downs, and a pre 64 win 70 in 264 Win mag. A bipod is to a rifle what a steering wheel is to a car. Not very useful without one

I'm having trouble believing this just happened. I was shooting off a bipod from the bench and this happened. I added the pic rail and additional t-nut to this stock but it broke through the factory installed one (I installed the one further forward). This is a super lightweight carbon fiber and Kevlar stock.

the rifle manufacturer stated that they do not recommend use of a bipod on this model so there is no warranty coverage.

anyway, it's either a freak deal or needs to be a word of caution to anyone using a super lightweight stock. Send it to me fix it for about $65 dollars parts and $25 dollars for shipping won't break in same spot again. Are I can you how to die it. No labor charges on about 10 minutes of work

I laugh at all these replies of unacceptable. The Stock developer clearly stated not for use with a bipod. They did this for a reason. Just saying...

That was only after the OP called the manufacturer to complain. The literature published by them made no mention of this little caveat.

Recon that stock would have snapped in any decent hunt anyway... with or without bipod.
