Gel test Hammer vs Accubond

So disagreeing with a salesman is wrong? And because he pays to Buffalo you guys I'm wrong! Really it literally hurts you guys so badly that I think mono bullets sub .338 are not the best LR option that you must ignore me. LOL. It's like a bunch of liberal women!
Start with the estimated BC, how many of you guys are getting dope that's spot on off those posted "estimated BC's".
I see lots of conflicting info on those BC's.
I never said anyone lied I said I disagree.
but if we are discussing lies those BC
discrepancies weren't posted by me.
like I politely said I'm sure the HAMMER is great at 400 yards. But just based on its design flaws its surely not even in the ring with the top LR bullets.

rocky. Good job I'm sure you believe every word of your post.
sorry I don't.

I apologize but that doesn't look like your disagreeing, looks to me like your saying he's lying

I never would have thought that the thread would be considered worthless data. Guess I should have known. I am sure the next one we do will also be considered worthless, by an expert, regardless of the range or bullets compared.

Trying to decide if this is even worth saying... The data from the test is fully disclosed in the 1st post. The test was done at 100y because that is the distance that the film crew that was on location wanted to film at. The data and the gel are valid, period.

Keep the tests and pic's coming Steve! There is always ONE OF THOSE GUYS that is going to have something stupid to say.....and entertain the rest of us.

I was dinging steel at 1,000 yards last week with the 7mmRem load that you developed with my rifle. Once I got my wind call down I was making so many hits that I stopped so that I wouldn't use them all up.....I didn't realize that they were only good up to 400 yards...."design flaws and all."

You have to admit that that guy is pretty funny!;)

Banging gongs and killing are far from the same. And once you get that wind hold down the bucks gone. But
I always have given you quarter as you have an impressive collection. But please show me where I'm wrong. With out the relief cuts they will over press and the relief cuts kill the BC.
say I'm wrong. Please and I will rub your nose in it!

Are you talking to the right guy.....you said that I "have an impressive collection." Of what?

Fred, figuring out the wind is something that you need to do with any bullet you are using so I don't understand your comment "and once you get that wind call down the buck is gone." HUH?

Listen my friend, I don't know you, and I NEVER claimed to be an expert here like some do. I am just a Hunter, and Shooter like most of us here are.

What I know is this: I sent my rifle and my money to Steve for a load development and he sent me back a 7mmRemMag that shoots his 155gr HH Bullet at 3,260fps, with NO pressure signs, into a 3 shot clover at 200 yards...I have the target to prove it too. The BC number, data, and chart that he gave me matches my Swarovski calibrated ballistics turret knob, so I just range my target and shoot. My 1,000yard hash mark is true at 1,000 yards. I don't ever expect to shoot anything past 500 yards but it is nice to know that I can make hits at 1,000 if I want to.
I never even tried further than that and I don't expect to either.

I don't know what "design flaws" you are talking about but I am very happy with my load.

If you start spouting off technical mumbo-jumbo, I am not going to understand what you are talking about anyway so don't bother.

PS: I never met Steve in my entire life, and since he lives in Montana and I am in NY, I probably won't ever meet him.

I paid him every penny that he charged me, he gave me nothing for free, so I owe him nothing. I sing his praises because he treated me fairly, is a gentleman who I can phone and he takes the time to talk to me, and he sold me what I believe is a top notch product.

I no longer want to be a part of this thread so I'm removing/deleting most of my comments, any "likes" associated with my comments were before my edits so please disregard them.

I like hammers, Steve has helped me a lot and I will continue to support him, I have no worries if I keep a hammer in its proper velocity it will perform. That range is wherever it lies for whatever cartridge I'm shooting. The end.

If you're going to talk about pure LR hunting bullets sure I can agree they don't fit as well as some others. But this thread started with an accubond comparison, not a berger hybrid comparison. Then, everyone came in hot comparing them to freaking sciroccos and a frames which surely aren't long range centered bullets either.

I don't have the spare change or the time to do gel testing at 600 yards, but I was pretty impressed with Barbour creeks 155 testing, and may send them some 181s on my dime since they are what I'm considering for a 0-700 bullet

My comment comes from several threads were guys called hammers long-range bullets on this form.
I have never said they were not amazing bullets I have said they are not LR bullets.
that said any bullet can be shot as far as one can shoot inside the limitations of its velocity and angle but that doesn't make them the best for LR.
Some how a group of guys here think that this is an all around solution for close and LR.
it's been said on this forum over and over.
even referenced in this thread about an elk killed at 1400 or something like that! I'm sure is 100% factual but it was not the best bullet choice available.

Steve should thank me as I have got him more screen play than a bunch of Nodding and pandering would have ever gotten him.

Gun

Guns and blades. With several nice mounts from trips abroad. You use the same name on other sites, No?

Not me! I never post pictures of anything, I have ONE big game rifle, and no more knives than anyone else here......nothing special for sure

To be honest the Accubond isn't really that great past 800 In most standard calibers.
they do everything well but nothing absolutely great across the velocity curve. The LRAB will open better at 800+ but it's weakness is 300 and in where it's a nuclear boom.

Guess I mistook you for the INGWE that sold quality wears on the fire. My bad I apologize.

I agree with you about the ABLR. I shot a zebra on the shoulder at 200 yard with 7mmRemMag 175gr and the recovered weight was 71gr. Stopped under skin on far side.
Dead Zebra but I like an exit

145 Eldx at a range Hammers would shine.
