Honestly I was hoping anyone at any level was able to walk away from this interview with something. The internet connection was a little weak and caused some of the drag. But I thought it turned out ok.

I am going to try his "anneal after sizing" to see if it makes any difference for me. Also interesting was the double bumping shoulders and holding the ram down for 8 seconds to eliminate spring back in the brass.

I started out counting the 8 seconds after I dropped the ram then would raise it - spin the brass a little and drop the ram for another 5 seconds, now what I done is during the eight seconds is I'm wiping off the lube on a finished piece of brass, chucking it in the bucket spinning the piece thats in the press, lubing a new piece of brass on the pad and then swapping it out - it takes 8 seconds to wipe the lube off and 5 seconds to roll the lube on. Makes better use of my time and I don't have to focus on counting seconds.

The whole process that I do in which goes pretty fast

I will throw a batch of spent brass in a vibrating cleaner with corn cob and old dryer sheets-they collect the black residue good. Note this cleans the dirt and more so any carbon off of the necks - It saves my dies from grit wrecking the die and having to buff out the dies to correct the issue.

Then the double bump process. Note as explained.

Then I anneal them using a old Bench Source. Works great.

Then I brush the necks to get any burnt carbon out.

Then I wash the brass in Iosso brass cleaner - takes only seconds then the brass I flush them around some and shake out the Iooso then the brass goes to a pail of water right away. When the batch of brass is finished in which is fast - wear rubber gloves. I then rinse the brass really well in warm to hot water. From there they get spread out on a bath towel I then use a cotton glove grab 8 or 10 at a time and dry them very fast with a hot hair dryer. The brass cleans fast and looks like new. If you over wash or take to long you can fade out the brass. Small batches at a time in the pail of Iooso usually a dozen +/- and make sure you don't get any on your other batches that are waiting

Then after the brass has been dried I run the brass necks again with a brush to make sure there is no hard water residue.

Then after a few minutes I prime the stuff and pour powder.


Just a few things I do and not saying it is the only way, but it works well for what I see on my end.

I've been doing the double bump like you illustrated above with my 37XC brass. Liking the results

Yeah jasent, really wanting to try it with my XC as well.
