Seekins rings still loose

If you are messing with guns you need calipers....Rail is too narrow for your rings. Speak to Christensens and they'll set you right.

Absolutely, you only have to spend like $30!

Also cant do without a torque wrench either!

I feel sorry for you pilgrims. You most likely have installed a 20 moa rail and using 30 millimeter diameter rings Not 30moa rings. Is your scope a 1" or 30 mm tube?

30 MOA rings?? Since when do rings have anything to do with slope built into the rail?

Since OP bought the rifle used, CA may not have sold it with that rail on it.

Since I had (have) the same issue...

Measured the rail that I was having problems with. Measured 2 other rails. The narrow one was over .020 off. The particular rings I was trying to use would not tighten down, by quite a ways.

Tried an alternate set of rings (same mfg, different model) and they will tighten down....barely.

Going to install a new rail due to the width variation.

To the OP, as others have said, spend the $$$ and get a set of dial calipers, torque wrench, and levels. You owe it to yourself to learn how to mount a scope correctly and measure accurately.

Just going by post 5 and 13 were it states it is a CA rail but I can not be a 100 percent on that

My CA did not come with a rail. Also the rifles used with a aftermarket stock so it's been modified. It appears the OP may have a Weaver Type slotted ring base which has smaller slots than a true spec Picatinny rail. Anyways he's ordered a new rail. Moving on.

so I have a Christensen arms MPR rifle and a picatinny rail. Im assuming it's the factory supplied rail.
I just got some seekins rings. And fully tightened they are still loose on the rail.

I'm stumped.

Here is your Answer :
Weaver slots are .180" wide while picatinny slots are .206" in width.
There is a difference of .026" between the two.
It looks as if your rings are for the Weaver Style Rail and not for the picatinny rail..
Hence no matter how tight you turn those Seekins Rings they simply will not make up .026" enough to tighten them up !
Return or exchange your rings for Weaver style ,or prove it to yourself and using your digital calipers measure the slot width on your rifle's base.
This will prove exactly what style of base you have and now you can act accordingly .
