Thanks! Yep, as far as charge, that's the plan. Was hoping to get a starting COAL for fire-forming. I've got a modified 300 PRC case for the Hornady tool I can neck down, but obviously due to the shoulder, it wont, be accurate one formed.

My dummy round measures 3.702" with a 195 Berger so if the reamer was cut close, that should be the distance to the lands.
Maybe load 3.680"

and check it in the chamber.

My first Wildcat, so I guess I can just work in at 0.010" increments till the bolt will close. That should get me close. Then I'll just do it again with the fire formed brass. Maybe I can find someone to thread a piece of fire formed brass for the Hornady tool as well.
Should I just go middle ground on charge for fire forming?

Yes, maybe 6-7 grains under max

Thanks a bunch! That should get me going. When the reamers are rented do you get asked what your dummy round length is? I told SJ I was gonna run the 195s. Hopefully it'll be pretty close to your chamber.

The chamber will be whatever the reamer is.

Ok, great...obviously a newbie and didn't know if the throat length would be optional. Last question...today anyway, Ha! Do I need to change the stem to a more VLD type, or are your dies already set up with the right stem for the 195s?

Not sure which one is in the seater but it should there because they come with 2

There are several smiths that will drill and tap your formed brass to work with the Hornady gauge. Once I get a couple pieces fire formed in a couple weeks I'm going to send one over to Short Action Customs to do the work for me, I think they charge $10 ... if I remember right.

So the 28 Sherman Magnum dies didn't come with 2 seaters. It only came with the longer one in pic. The shorter one is listed for the 190 A-Tips. Which would you use? The A-Tip seater seems to contact the ogive a lot further down on the bullet, which I think would keep it straighter and less run-out. But not sure.
