I'm forever working up loads with new bullets and trying to improve accuracy and/or terminal performance within a given cartridge. To that end, I ordered some 402gr Shock Hammer bullets for my Marlin 1895SBL in 45-70.

Does anyone have any experience with this bullet that they'd like to share?

I'm following this one. Sounds interesting.

My earliest finding is that a starting load of H4198 will not fit in the remaining case with a properly seated 402gr HH. Marlins require a max OAL of about 2.550" IIRC. I'm thinking that RE7 may be the only viable option unless someone has had some other combination that works.
