I picked a mighty fine time to need to mix up a batch of case lube (1:10 lanolin/isopropanol) and it seems isopropanol is basically hens teeth due to the pandemic. Has anyone experimented with alternative solvents?

Look on Amazon , Isopropanol and isopropyl alcohol are just different names for the same chemical . If that doesn't satisfy, you may have to bite the bullet and buy some lanolin based case lube. Amazon has Dillon's case lube along with many other brands. I think Midway is caught up on their shipping, I ordered some stuff this past Tuesday, and it's on the truck for delivery today.

Been using this for over 20 years.

Go over to accurateshooter theres a guy selling what's called "Hobo oil"I really like it takes very little to size cases

Refined coconut oil, in the cooking section of your grocer.
You can use it straight or mix it 50:50 with 99% alcohol. If you cannot find isopropanol alcohol, you can also use Everclear from your liquor store.
I use alcohol because the straight up stuff is liquid at 75° and quite solid at 50°.
Like lanolin, it lasts several years. Unlike lanolin, it smells good, and doesn't gum up your brass if you don't clean it off.
Edit to add, I'm still using the same jar I mixed five years ago.
To use, I lightly pour or spread the mix onto felt cloth in a small tray (old toaster oven tray will do). You'll acquire a sense of how much to pour. More is not better.
When I size my cases, I'll put a dozen on the tray, with light to firm pressure, roll the cases approx 1 revolution. Use rubber gloves...
Proper lube amount you usually dont see on the case but will feel it with a bare finger.
Havent had a dented case shoulder in years. In all my years of reloading, I can only remember three stuck cases, and that's not because of lube.

I've been using HEET for a while now. Its found in auto section of walmart or parts store. 12oz for $2. I've seen it on shelves through the virus scaregold-eagle-car-cleaners-chemicals-hee28202-64_1000.jpg

Go to auto one, and get the red bottle of heet like above poster, NOT the yellow one, learned that lesson the solution will destabilize and seperate. I love the lanolin lube, I mixed mine at 11:1 works freaking great and super easy to apply on an old cookie sheet.

Try a printing works that runs a multiple color press, they use bulk isopropanol as roller cleaner. Should be able to score a pint which will probably last several years.

Check in the pharmacy departments for the 16 oz. Bottles in a few stores...you may have better luck finding it!

What system do you use to coat the brass, spray in bag, spray cookie sheet with or without something on the sheet or what ever system you may use. Not trying to take over thread OP, just trying to learn. Thanks

I put 30-50 cases on a cookie sheet. Quality spray bottles are needed. Chemical Brothers on Amazon are great. I use one wide spray to coat cases, shake them around rolling back and forth, the spray one more spray followed by same. I let set for 3-4 mins for alcohol to flash off prior to sizing. My cases are usually still hot from coming out the amp annealer so alcohol is go a quite quickly.
