JE stop telling us how old you are man. I have a vision in my head when I read all the post and my vision of you from reading your post for yrs is not some old stogie. I guess I'm just a creative type but every post I read has a different face and voice attached to them. And those faces and voices are molded by how you write and your name. Anybody else do this? Or am I a minority crazy dude.

You are not alone

I disagree with him on a lot of stuff, but I do enjoy listening to what he has to say. One of those people where I greatly enjoying listening and learning and disagreeing. His opinions on what is optimal are very set in northeastern deer woods.

Wow...
This must be the guy you guys are talking about..
"The Mouth Breather".......
Got to the point of be mentally asleep while watching...had to stop....
What he stated regarding the 6.5 Creedmoor I agree with even though I shot one elk over 600 yards with my 6.5 Creedmoor under perfect conditions with a buddy backing me with his 338RUM. I went through the top ventricle and he dropped after a few seconds without knowing what happened. But after recovering the bullet, I would never try it again.
The main jest of his videos are condemnation of the long range hunter. He spews incorrect ballistics like PETA spray paints fur coats. His claim to witness over 500 elk kills ferrets his disdain for truth as much as his disdain for long range hunting as it is out of any realm of possibility one could achieve this unless he slaughters an herd of elk per year. (10 per year X 50+ years) So, who is the true wanton slaughterer of our majestic elk besides the wolf and bears? (Oh, only Grizzlies)
To be apathetic and ignore his behavior is absolutely what he wants from our community. Go to the remarks on his YouTube channel and post qualified rebuttals by using the facts against him. No name calling or vulgar schpeels do us any good so please refrain from using them. Discrediting him to his audience will reduce his efforts to harm our sport.

What I find funny about this guy is he says if you just read the stats on energy you are being deceived, while he is verbally supplying the same deception. He applies his own unproven bias to a whole stack of 'catridges' . I am not saying he is right or wrong, he is just undermining his own premise by the nature of his argument.

I wonder how much tissue damage he claims to make the kill would occur without kinetic energy???

Most I can watch is about 3 minutes of this person. For F sakes, we know the the Creedmoor started as a target cartridge and it exceeds in that arena splendidly, out past 1000yds even! Change the bullet to something for the shooting of our "majestic" animals and it still performs, to a reasonable distance, if you've put your time in on the range and if the conditions allow. For that matter there are other "target" cartridges, that when you use them for hunting, they work excellent there too. I get that he prefers the Weatherby 300, but seriously, is everyone that owns one taking shots at our "majestic" animals, at far ranges all the effing time, I think not! I love antelope hunting, they can be way out there, but I haven't killed one way the F out there lately, because hey, there's a nice buck at 250yds, that's long range for today, with a 7STW.
Thing is, most would be shooters, have no business taking shots on game past 200yds let alone, trying to do this s@&t past 600yds, straight out the box?!

Time for some bourbon, this person triggers me! Know Your Limits

I don't feel like an old stogie because at 78 I still have some git up and go, just not as much as in the past. You are only as old as you feel, and It does worry me that one day I will really retire. (I have retired 5 times and still haven't got it right, so I;ll just keep busy.

I except my age and feel fortunate to still be on the green side of the yard. Thanks for the kind words, and I will stop Talking about my age and hopefully will continue helping others. 👍 My only excuse is that I want to show that my experiences are real and not read on the internet.

Thanks again and I promise to behave. (Yea right).

Yeah I know what you mean about retiring. I tried to retire once and then everyone all still wanted me to do barrels and such. They were customers for so many years it's hard to say no. But after all I went through last year I think I can finally say no to most of them. You know you will always have some you can't say no to. I'm no where near as old as you but my body feels like it's going on 100. I still feel like a kid in my mind. It's hard balancing the two. This yr for shooting has been a downer. Our club isn't starting till mid July. Only doing half of a season. I can tell you in my spare time I won't be watching anymore of the real gunsmiths videos. Think I would enjoy watching water evaporate more than watching any more of him. I'm sure someone somewhere thinks he is an authority but I'm not one of them. He even trashes the 6.5creed. He has probably seen 6.5 bullets just bounce right off ribcages. Everybody knows the Creed is the best at everything and will never be defeated. Manufacturers should just start purging all the obsolete cartridges the Creed created. All of them except the 280ai.🤣
Would it be stingy of me to allow the 257wby to still be made too.
Disclaimer. I do own a 6.5 Creed and love it but but you all know I'm kidding about it's super powers. Right.
Or am I. 😁
