Thank you all for the advice. Neck in chamber is .299 and will use bushing die to bring brass necks down to .293. My loaded neck diameter should be .296 afterwards.

With Lapua brass your figures don't look quite right to me. I use a .292" bush and the loaded rounds measure .294" for my 6.5-284 Norma. A friend of mine has a Savage rifle and his figures are the same as mine. The neck thickness on my Lapua brass is 0.015" so .015" x 2 = .030" + .264" = .294. If this is the case with your brass you will have .005" clearance and may not need to turn the necks.

I like RL26, for me it just hasn't given the consistent accuracy, but OMG does it smoke the bullets out there. If you get both with that combination, that's a real long range bomber.

Working on both 6.5x284 and 6.5 PRC right now. I'm am also enjoying all the info on 6.5x284 .
I got a similar 4 shot group with PRC with RL26 and 156 Berger. 54.0 grs. Shot just as good at 2830 fps. Beyond that got worse. I have 1 pd. of RL23 that I'll try with 6.5x284. H1000 worked well with 156 also. H4831 good with 140's. Have 153.5 and 144 Berger's to try yet. Haven't tried Retumbo or N565 yet. Have plenty. Thinking N570 and RL33 maybe too slow and not enough case fill.

Wow, so much data it's hard to find where to start. Got the H1000, H4831 and Sc, 22/ 23/26 along with 6lbs of H4350.

Tagging in. I am going to try the 156 EOL Bergers in my 6.5x284. New build, with a long (28") Proof CF barrel. So hoping I can get some nice velocity with the heavies. Have most of the suggested powders. Including some Ramshot Magnum that shoots decent in every rifle I have, but never is the best in any of them. Might have to try it. I have about 6.5 lbs left and it would be sweet to have a gun that likes a powder I have so much of!!!!

My first 2 powders to try were RL 23 and RL 26. Never got to any others as they both shot lights out. Mine is a hunting rifle/paper puncher so I was happy with .3-.4 MOA. You have picked a great cartridge. When checking for max loads so many of the charge weights shot well it was hard to make a choice which ones to work on seating depth with.

I agree with KiwiKid. Your measurements look a little off to me. All of my loaded ammo falls into the .293-.2935 range on all of my "unturned Lapua brass". I just rechecked a dozen pieces and measuring at 4 locations on all cases, >90% were exactly .0145" neck thickness. Rarely a .0140 was noted. I really doubt you will need to do any neck turning. I also use a .292 bushing in my resizing die. This gives me plenty of neck tension.

50.0-51.0 R23 with a 130 is a good starting point. IIRC my buddy uses 53.2 with a 130 Accubond.

Looking to load for this new rifle I have and would like to hear any recommendations on Brass and loading data.

My cousin and I both used the same load in our 6.5-284 1k benchrest rifles. 48.5 gr H4350 with Lapua brass, Fed Gold Medal Match primers, 140 gr Bergers. We were running 3000-3050 if I recall correctly. We had tight necks so we had to turn our case necks. My best groups at Williamsport 1k was 6.8". Gun was better than I was no doubt. Hart accurized Remington 700 with a Hart 28" stainless barrel. As always work up to this load with caution. Your gun may not like this load.
