Try your ammo in a buddies 300 win mag if your loads are similar and it can be done safely. That will tell you right away wether it's an ammo issue or a gun issue.

I simply wanted to reach out to make sure that 101stCurrahee had our contact information so we can help diagnose his concerns. As for the bedding, the rifle should not need it. It is molded around an aluminum mini-chassis that is very solid. What i have seen sometimes is that a little bit of paint gets built up on the pillars and that can cause the gun to be fussy until removed.

Guess I'll be watching this thread. Just got the same rifle in yesterday, Bergara B14 HMR Wilderness 300 WM. I plan on going to the range next and burn up some old factory ammo to check it out before reloading. I have new Norma brass, H1000, and Berger 215's to start my handloads on. Hopefully it goes better than the OP, 101stCurrahee.

How many total shots have been through the barrel including the break in process?? Some rifles need to take lots of copper before the barrel sweetens up.

Completely agree, I contacted their customer service about an issue I was having with cratered primers on two early model B14s that I had, and he personally responded to my email to discuss options to help fix the issue and then connected me directly with their customer service team to follow up and close out my issue.

Sir, just looked at a Hodgdon #27 for a 220gr bullet, it starts @73gr of H1000 & tops at 78gr. HTH!
