27 Nosler loads?

I am having my rifle rebarreled in 27 Nosler. I have dies and 100 brass already. Rifle was left at the gunsmith today. I have been pestering Nosler for 165 ABLR bullets and load data for a couple weeks. Latest response was 150 ABLR data to hit the Nosler site any day and bullets are a couple weeks out. That means 165 ABLR data is a ways out.

I have read to begin with maximum loads for a 270 Weatherby and work up. Another thread advises to use caution with Nosler brass as it doesn't show pressure easily. Does anyone have any data for this cartridge?

Shooting Times May 2019 page 42 Layne Simpson. Retumbo. New 150 reg Accubonds available now as well as 150 ABLR. 165s most likely a couple months. Hammer .277 / 156g for twist 1-8" available now.

Nosler brass is pretty soft and show pressure normally.

Nosler brass being relatively soft was my impression but I've never loaded any. Since I have no experience with Nosler brass I was curious. First impression was its made by Norma, I believe, so it would be relatively soft. It was surprising to read it was hard.

I just don't see any pressure tested loads for the 27 Nosler. I'm getting some 8133 and I see loads for 28 Nosler but nothing for the 26N or 27N. I'm thinking the cartridge is so new there's just no data. At least I'll have a starting point though.

I would try similar powders to the 28, N570 being my first choice. Midsouth just filled my order and it arrived today. Retumbo would probably be my second choice, I have never used 8133 but a lot of people seem to like it

Using starting loads for the 28 Nosler with similar bullet weights might be another approach if cases same. Have a chronograph available to check velocities and work up slowly towards factory velocities.

That is my thought. The only fly in the ointment is that there are no factory loads available yet. Nosler is telling me it'll be in a week or two but no data, ammunition or bullets yet. Without the data I will start with 28 Nosler starting loads, use the chrono and pressure signs but proceed carefully.

Funny, 7977 is the FASTEST powder listed!

I think US869 was 'the' powder for the 26 and also very good in the 28.

Hmmmm... they really loved 7977. In fact it's shaded sd THE best powder threu tested and I didn't see it right away. I think US869 is Unicorn Dust in today's market. I'll look but I'm working on getting that 8133.

Some of the reviews I seen on the 26 was nothing touched 869 for velocity and it's accuracy was as good as the others.

Don't know much about the Endron powders but I loaded some Retumbo for a friend in his 28 Nosler and shot 1/2 MOA at 300 ! It was leaving some velocity on the table to the really slow burners but a 180 at 3000 fps is nothing to sneeze at.. especially when it's that accurate.

I want a .27 nosler. I like the .270 bore. No explanation or reason it's better I just do. I think based on my experience in .300 win and the load data for other cartridges 8133 would be the one to beat.

Berger 170 eol

And absolutely curious about the 180 woodleigh weldcore. Should be a monster.

I have 180 woodleigh I put in my 270 win reloads for hunting. It should work real well for a cartridge with more powder capacity. I get about 2550 fps using 7828 and run out of room in the case. Good for a warm barrel, the first shot seems to string though. When I get a 27 nosler 180 will be in the list of projectiles.

What twist rate is in your 270 Win? That s a long bullet it appears
