Minimum Powder Charge Help

Hello
How Minimum we charge in Bullet?
If manual says 42grain in 243 or 308 how mutch minimum at least i load the charge?
Do you really want to know a minimum, or a good starting point to develop a handload for your gun?
When I am developing a new handload, I start 10% below the recommended max, and carefully work the charge upward to find the optimum. So, in your example, I would start 4 grains below 42, or at 38 grains.

Whatever surplus powder you are using must match what's in your reloading book. If you can't find the same powder in any reloading book that your surplus powder is than I would disregard that powder and never use it. All powder has different burn rates. (( Life changing story.)) I have a reloading table set up. I was reloading one day and left some powder in my powder charger. I also left the canister of the powder I was using on the table so I wouldn't forget what powder was in my powder charger. Family emergency came up so I walked away. 2 days later I came back to start reloading again. My powder canister was missing. My girlfriend said she cleaned everything up for me. She don't touch my reloading table anymore. I threw away about 1 lb of powder cause I couldn't remember what was in it. A lot better to throw away $40 in powder than throw away my life for stupidity.

I 100% agree with u...

Actualy i have wc844 but dont know the exact charge thats why i m trying to do start with low load
If you cannot find the info on your powder in a loading data manual, be safe.....DO-NOT reload with it. Throwing a light charge can be as---or more--dangerous than a heavy charge. (no offense intended here) My guess is your reloading experience is limited, until you are more familiar with the processes and dangers, please stick with the loading data that matches your specific caliber, bullet weight, primer requirement, powder type & charge weight. Following these steps will assure you will have many gratifying and enjoyable years in reloading.

Thanx

I mean to say if the minimum charge is 42grain can u charge 35grain or less?? Just to check powder bcoz i have suplus powder and dont know mutch about that

Minimum by definition means the least amount of charge!

If you go less you could risk a secondary explosion & could possibly lead to a catastrophic failure.

If you want a reduced load look at something like trailboss, ADI put out load data for quite a few cartridges for the powder that will produce close to subsonic speeds or just a bit more

Well explain my question Bundle of thanx sir

If you Google wc844 there are some interesting articles on use of this powder for .223 and .308.
Apparently it is not a cannister grade powder. It varies in burn rate from lot to lot. It roughly approximates the burn rate of 335.
If you follow 335 loading data and work up you should be ok. According to the literature, you have to start all over again once you use up that container/lot because burn rates can vary so much.
