22-250 for deer?

I've got a recoil sensitive daughter. Our state allows .22 Centerfire caliber rifles with expanding bullets. As long as we are using common sense and *Rule 1 Violation*s there is nothing wrong with using a 22-250 rem. Quit crying about it!
I will say it again I have tracked more deer shot with arrows and large rifles than from a 22-250
And yes I have shot jack rabbits with my 45-70

My kids started out shooting a browning A-Bolt Micro Medallion in 7mm-08 when the oldest was 6 years old. Since then about 70 critters have fallen to that little rig. Very deadly but light muzzle blast and recoil...a deer killer, not wounder. FYI, my son Culls does on a big South Texas game ranch using 22-250 with suppressor and 60 gr Nosler partition or Hornady soft points.

My dad (72) swapped to 22-250 from 270 for this year after shoulder surgery. He took a nice deer for here 55 gr ballastic tip 120 yd heart shot dead and did not know it. Made it about 40 yds

Thanks
Buck

It might be over kill. I have tons of whitetails tipped over with 204. I have drt many with my 17 hmr. A 30-55 gr pill at 3400 FPS threw the ribs liquifies both lungs.

Thanks

Buck

My best buddy from childhood had a grandfather who used to shoot the deer that came into his garden with a 22 magnum. He'd take the hide & head to the game warden, and the meat to the orphanage. The nuns adored this old guy, and the little kids ate well. The 22 magnum knocked them down RIGHT NOW. He didn't get fancy with heads shots, either - right behind the arm was his preferred shot placement, and it worked like a charm.

And what was the op asking back on page one ?

If the .22-250 is good enough for deer? After reading this thread, I learned deer wear Kevlar vests with level 3 ceramic plates. The 5.56 (aka .223 rem) is good enough for the enemies of the United States but a .223 on steroids can't kill a deer.

Learn summit' newz erryday.

it is time to move on this is supposed to be a long range forum not a varmint rifle forum

it is obvious with the number of people who have posted their are to many people who don't care about clean ethical kills they should find a varmint hunting site and post their ****

You can report the thread, the little bell icon in the lower left of this post, to the Admin and see if they care about your feelings.
I personally have exceptionally clean kills out into the 600 yard range with 22-250's loaded for hunting deer and antelope, if you can't produce similar results I'd say that a personal issue!
