I don't want to spend a ton on an adapter if I don't have to, but would like the lightest most stable option available(high country packing in type hunting). I've seen the outdoorsman setup where they drill the bino. Read there is a Nikon setup that works?? What have you guys used?

I had a outdoorsman on 10x42,should have pulled when I sold.Long ago so wasnt bad price.I bought stud and just screwed in on my 15x50 vortex,that I use all the time,window mnt and tripod.I would think you could make these,with smithing you do.There are different model based on same idea.Think vortex and ziess have versions
I'm scared to death to machine those binos
I mean Im sure you could make studs etc.I wish I had my old els w/stud.The vortex had cap with hole under.My other els 10x32 are well used,meaning lots stuff missing like the cap and birde and rubber coating etc.Ill look Sat see what the bridge looks like,there is some kinda connector there,Ill look at and let you know.They I guess drilled and taped,or just remove and replace,but fit the cap nice,when outdoorsman did stud

Wonder if the Swaro SLC adatper stud would work for you? Found online $9 for stub adatper.
The cap on front bridge,guessing pops off? Mines gone, you could probably take yours off and look.Ill describe,center is a ,mine hollow threaded stud.This has I think bottom washer,next flat washer nut,next another to tighten against first.They both have slots milled opposite so you can tighten.My guess they replace this center.Vortex smart and already have hole tapped,under cap and you can buy there deal.Im having problem getting picts on comp.U pm me cell and ill shoot u a picture of bridge if you want.

I have the Outdoorsman stud on my EL 12x50s.
If I had to do over again I would go with Kramer Designs stud and rapid release tower.
I spent some time at the KDC booth at the sheep show and played with his set up. In my opinion the Kramer set up is easier to use than the Outdorrsman, it's top loading. The Kramer is probably a couple grams lighter if that is important to you. I own products from both companies and will buy more from both in the future.
note: the bino studs for Kramer and Outdoorsmans are not "drilled", they are "pressed" in. If you already own your EL12x50s, you will need to send them to Kramer or Outdoorsmans for the stud install. If you haven't purchased your binos yet, you might want to consider the Outdoorsmans. They will include a free stud and installation with the purchase.

On my vortex the outdoorsman tower I just leave on,because base is QD.It is also easier to get the tower form stud on vortex because There is no front bridge,like on el ,stud is in between 2 bridges.The system I like very much.Now KDC does make a optic bridge,that would be good idea if things dont balance.Outdoorsman use to sell the small QD head and I bought several,and have about 6 QD plates.Made my own dual mnt and had very little into compared to there $400 model

I wouldn't use any of the screw-in type attachments, takes too long. Make yourself a craddle with a rubber strap that will hold your spotting scope, rifle, range finder, binos, etc. all in one adapter. Leave it on your bipod, tripod, etc for quick use while hunting, etc. Something like the Leica bino adapter. Make a flat plate with a V in the middle and cover with rubber cushion, then add rubber strap hold-down, something like this ---v---, if you can imagine it.
