I was just in dicks sporting goods/ field & stream. They had a powder funnel on sale for $3.99. I went to the counter with it and the girl scanned it and then asked me what my birthday was, I told her. I asked why she needed my birth date to buy a $4 plastic funnel? She said I don't know , what's this used for? I said reloading. She said "that's why". Anyway. I just chuckled. Heads up guys, you got to show proof of age to buy cheap plastic funnels at Dicks sporting goods, LOL.

Your first mistake was going to Dicks Sporting Goods. ;)

I have a rule that this type of information is not necessary and if ask, I simply tell them "No" and if they need it to sell me the item I politely leave it at the register and say No thanks.

Some things are none of anyone's business :) and apparently, they don't need mine.

I usually don't ever buy anything from them but I had to kill some time while my wife was at the doctor. I bought the funnel for a friend who I'm going help start reloading. So maybe now I should contact dicks sporting goods and see what their idea of proper transfer of ownership for the plastic funnel would be. Maybe they should rename to Socialist sporting goods.

I would rather be catheterized than go to Dick's or Bass Pro for anything gun related, especially after what that merger did to the Cabelas corporation and the good folks from that town that was economically destroyed in the aftermath.
Amen brother - Cabelas went to crap. I stopped shopping there after the merger. I am a loyal Sportsmans Warehouse guy. They have always treated me well and are aggressive with their price matching.

A few years ago (before the merger) I bought an anniversary Marlin 60 at Bass Pro. Never had a more frustrating experience in my life. They weren't even busy and it took the disfunctional flunkie behind the counter 2 hours to do the NICS. Then, to make matters worse, they had 2 goons walk me to my truck (one of them carrying the box) before I finally got out of there. I guess they thought I was going to unleash a fullisade of thunderbolts in the parking lot. As far as I'm concerned, they deserve to have drunken frat boys doing cannon balls in their fish tanks.

You are a much nicer guy than I am when something ask "What are you going to use it for", First I would have said How many uses does a funnel have, Pick one. Then depending on their reply I would have told them My aim is bad and it is for personal hygiene's and let them think about ito_O.

I refuse to buy anything from Dicks , I use to spend quite a bit in their stores. I sent them a email on their gun policy change and I receive a kind of FU response. Hey other places sell stuff too! Just like this pro gun rally today in Virginia , the press is reporting ( to they're surprise ) that it was peaceful and no violence!! Don't they understand we are not the criminals , we abide the law ! We don't wear mask and create anarchy , we don't block others from their right to organize , we just want to have our constitutional rights .

It's strictly about moving towards socialism. That's the agenda nothing else. Major supporters are wealthy and they are the folks pushing for it so hard. The fact of the matter a growing number of people here in the U.S are complacent about their freedom because they've always had it and some will never appreciate it until it's gone. I spoke with a young engineer that grew up in china that I work with now. I talked to him about my faith and beliefs and how our culture is changing. To my surprise he got it & understood. He grew up under so much socialist suppression/aggression that he realized that people here don't know how much freedom that they really have. He had a much better understanding than most of our young people here in the US have of how valuable freedom really is, especially the freedom of your beliefs. Those freedoms are priceless, but we have many politicians trying to offer cheap trinkets in trade for our freedoms. Those politicians are a lot like the fellows who carry pinnochio & and the ignorant boys off to pleasure island. Lots of folks in this country are in the process of getting carried off to pleasure island due to ignorance.

I also quit shopping at Dicks/Field and Stream because of their gun stance. I really don't like going to Cabela's anymore. The only reason I go to Cabela's is to burn credit card points. Seems after Bass Pro bought Cabela's, they just don't have anything I am really looking for.

I have walked in and out of cabelas without purchasing anything many times since the merger....quit using my cabelas business card too....dicks is useless to what i need in way of purchases....and I needed a cheap box of 06 ammo to try out a used rifle...went fo wallyworld...the manager of the sporting goods counter asked me for photo id....i asked why...and he said it has been store policy for four years....lying thru his teeth....i didn't buy the ammo...and saw a lady manager as i was leaving..asked her about the id and ask her how long it has been policy..she said nkt even a year yet.......
Just getting where you can't trust anyone anylonger.....
Bought the same box of ammo at sportsmans for same price......which really amazed me.....

I live in a rural state with heavy % of gun owners and a lot of hunting and shooting opportunities available. First after waiting years for a Cabelas to move up here, then the take over by Bass Pro, now its not worth the drive unless you know they have what you are going for. dicks who is closer, now has an anti gun and hunting attitude that shows on the clerks faces as soon as you mention anything related. Most don't look like they have ever held or shot a gun. They have sold out to the anti gun crowd and do anything to please them. Sad but the day of the mom & pop stores has returned for the ones still in business, my favorite is an older married couple who run a shop and will get you anything you need. Problem is they can't stock the inventory and often have to order. They will stock what I frequently buy and I try to give them business cause their on my side in this battle. This in a state where hunting and shooting is a tradition, I can only imagine whats its like in some states. Dave
