Atlas bipods: what am I missing?

I like the Harris deployment a lot more, flip the legs out and go, with the Atlas and Evo I've had you have to take the time to position each leg, then you have to move each leg, then you fart with trying to get the pan tight enough. I missed a couple opportunities because I was farting with trying to get legs into position when I could have just flicked the legs out on a Harris without even looking. I want to like the Atlas cause it's got cool factor but a Harris S with pic adapter just is more solid and quick for me hunting and ELR. The next step for me is the JOY pod under an elr rifle, it's a little bulky for hunting.

I agree completely that the harris is absolutely better for hunting. No question about it. Quick deployment, plenty solid and definitely sturdy and stands up to alot of abuse. Ive never broke one and i am hard on stuff.

You aren't giving me specifics. Price doesn't always mean better. Not against trying both, but I'm wanting specifics.
You should just be like the rest of us. Have I big box in your gun room of stuff that you don't use any more because you moved on to something else. One time you sold something out of that box and shortly after you needed it so you went and bought another one, because of that one time you will never sell anything again because you might need it some day. I have 10 bipods and they all have a use, only you can decide what you want and need

Amen Bob... Everything has to be so complicated and high tech. Use what works best for you. Doesn't have to be the most expensive . I have big bucks in my front yard. My 22 cal. Pellet rifle offhand would work. But... They are my buddy's. I have to look before I let my dog out back. But that's ok. The deer make it over the fence before he gets close. I should post pics.

I actually like the Atlas and even like what most dont about it. The play in the legs allows a rifle to recoil before dragging the feet, similar to how a rifle acts in a sandbag type rest. You do not have to load it, so that removes the biggest variable with a bipod. I have personally shot much better from an old version Atlas than a Harris. I actually cant stand the rigid legs of the Harris.

For those that use the Atlas: do you shoot prone at 1000+ primarily? Do you mainly use it for PRS style shooting? Or hunting?
