So I'm looking at getting a hand priming tool. The Frankfort arsenal looks like a heavy duty tool. Any thoughts on it or other brands I'd be happy with?

I have a hand priming tool and a bench priming tool. and if i am loading at the range the hand tool is just that "Handy". But for precision priming, the bench model has better feel and more consistent results.

They both have their place. and as said, there are several that will do the job.
I don't use my press anymore for priming because of it's strength. (No real feel when seating primers). It is important to be able to feel the amount of force to seat a primer so you will know when the pockets are no longer tight enough and the case is used up.

Just my opinion

I like the Sinclair single priming tool, easy to set up and great feel. But like the gentleman earlier it's really just a personal choice, most people who reload probably have a couple different ones. So don't be afraid to get something to try and if you don't like it no big deal get another one. Just keep the old ones as backup or sell them.

I like the RCBS priming tool, But with the work it takes to put the shell holder in and out is time consuming. Best to buy shell holders in 2's.
I have a Lee primer tool, With a set of their shell holders makes for less setup time. I am sure their may be some newer priming tools on the market I have no experience with that may be a lot better. I have my 1966 RCBS JR set up for small primer punch and tube which is handy for quick 357 mag runs of pistol shells.

Over the years I have had a Lee a RCBS and now a Frankford Arsenal hand priming tool. The Lee was always wearing out parts. Would probably still be using the RCBS but the primer tray broke. Now that I have the Frankford Arsenal one it has more features that are hndy when priming cases. Plus it uses the Lee shell holders for their auto prime tool. If it were me I would buy the Frankford Arsenal model and enjoy.

I like my RCBS Universal hand primer, No need to swap shell holders, just use it as is. Does cases all the way to 416 Rigby with ease.
Nothing negative that I have ever experienced.

Cheers.

All different ideas, all good. I started out with a hand primer and quickly got used to the "feel" of priming. Can tell as cases start to get loose pockets and know when to discard. I would never leave my hand unit only buy another when the time comes. Like said above you can set two up for large and small and your good to go. Mine has literally loaded several thousand rounds from the bricks of primers I have went thru in the years, no problems yet. Dave
