I`ve found them to very accurate, most of the time. I use a lapping compound with a patch down the barrel a couple of times before you shoot it. Then do a normal barrel cleaning with some G96 or Break-free CLP cleaner until the patches come thru clean. Made a huge difference for me. The first two RAR`s i owned, i didnt lap the barrels, and they shot all over the place. The next three RAR`s i bought, lapped the barrels, shot great. I find that they really shot great with ammo running around 1200fps. So far the best cheap ammo for me has been Federal Target and the CCI Target. My hunting round is the Federal Premium "HUNTER MATCH" (dark red box) 40gr HP.
Some of the bolts cam over a little harder than they aught to in my opinion. Its an easy fix though. Pull the bolt out of the gun, stone hone and polish it where the bolt starts to cam over in the receiver. After a stone and hone, flitz polish with a dremel tool works very good to shine up the surface. Watch for burr`s in the entrance of the receiver where your bolt starts to go into it. I`ve been seeing alot of gouged bolts. If you find some burr`s, you can file those off with a small round file. Something in the size of a small chainsaw file works very good.

Have one of the "predator" versions with the green stock and threaded 18" barrel. Only things I've done was to check torque on the scope rail and action screws. Shoots very well with CCI standard velocity and mini mags. As with any rimfire it's mostly ammo selection. Great little rifles

As coastalshooter said, its mostly ammo selection. The 3 i listed work awesome in mine.

I`m wondering now, do you have a bolt action, or a 1022 semi.

My American RF is the #8334, I also have a mid 90's 10/22 that's been worked over. 21" bentz chambered heavy barrel. The american doesnt give anything up to the 10/22 accuracy wise with standard grade ammo, and I havent shot any match grade out of the american yet. The trigger on the american is significantly better from the factory vs the 10/22.
