What’s your favourite hunting arrow?

What are you currently shooting? Do you have a budget in mind? What bow? What broad head?

Also, do you fletch your own arrows?

I bought some Black Eagle Deep Impacts last year from Black Ovis. They shot really well for me. I had them built to my specs at Black Ovis and was pretty happy except I had one nock pop out and lost one insert after I hit a rock.
I have some Easton Axis shafts that I need to put together. I haven't heard anything but good things about them and the Easton FMJ's but I haven't shot any yet.
I had some Gold Tips that never shot well for me. Not sure if they weren't spined correctly for my draw length/draw weight or if they just weren't that good. I could never get them to shoot well at all with broadheads so I decided to change try the new arrow setups.

Easton Axis are solid. I'm shooting black eagle deep impacts with the FOC kit and really like them. I didn't have very good luck with Victory VAP's, they weren't as durable as other arrows ive used.

Easton ACC SuperLites. Used them on Deer, Elk, Bear and a few Groundhogs. I watched Chucksnipr's video and may have to try some of those and compare to the ACCs.

I shoot the Black Eagle Rampage arrows with 3 degree left helical Blazer vanes. I do nock alignment on all my arrows before fletching them. Works for good for me.

For western hunting, the 6mm Easton FMJ have been my go to. For eastern whitetails, even though I haven't had the chance to hunt them in the past 5 years, I'd go with something lighter and faster.

I'd suggest 350 spine Victory VAP V1's. Cut them at 27", with the 35 grain Shok Collar they will be about perfect spine. Fletch them 4 fletch, left 3 degree off set with Bohning 1.75" X Vanes.

The smaller profile vanes will give more clearance on your string and cable through the Reverse Assist Roller guard as the Z7 has a tendency to tune slightly in with a perfectly straight idler. Set rest 3/4" from Riser to center of arrow and nock point dead level with top of arrow running at top of Berger button (rest attachment hole). Bullet hole!

That will shoot lights out and penetrate like a much heavier arrow.

This is long range hunting. I did not that you could take a deer at 700 yards with a bow and arrow. Learn some thing new every day. Where can i get one of those long range bows?

If you look at the top of the page you will find the thread was posted in the Bowhunting sub forum, if this does not suit you there is a report button in the lower left and you can voice your concern to the man who created this forum and put a Bowhunting sub forum in it.
